RIP Andrew Sachs

Andrew Sachs who the played the part of Manuel in Faulty Towers has died at the age of 86.

One report says that he died at a care home last week following a battle with dementia

Very sad. I note the family made sure he was buried before telling everyone, perhaps to avoid Russell Brand gate-crashing.

He did plenty of other things besides Fawlty Towers, although no-one will much remember what they were.

Andrew will always be remembered as everyone's favorite Spanish waiter, the lovable Manuel. Everyone has their favorite scene, and for me Manuel, and his pet rat "Basil" will always make me chuckle. They should put "I am so sorry, he's from Barcelona" on his headstone. R.I.P. Andrew.

Andrew Sachs granddaughter Georgina Baillie (who appeared on the babeshows years ago under the name Voluptua) who was mentioned in the infamous prank messages left by Russell Brand & Jonathan Ross on Andrew Sachs answerphone, has posted this on her Facebook page this morning
