Another 8 weeks for the tv news to go crazy about elections....the ins and outs of a fiddlers elbow.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

and why is she calling for a snap general election? What's the real motive? I don't believe the 6min51secs waffle speech that came out.

I would've thought the left would be getting more votes because of brexit?

Opportunism. She needs her own mandate. It's a nigh on certainty to strengthen her position with the country and around the world (in new trade deals and with the EU). As well as the bolster the Tory majority in parliament and against the SNP.

It'll give her five years in power over the the current definite three (something could happen to oust Corbine and shoe-in a more electable opposition leader in the meantime). That'll provide a larger time frame in which to fix stuff after we exit the EU properly in 2019 prior to any subsequent election.

Corby maybe the darling of a lot of Labour membership, particularly with the student left, but is vastly unpopular with the general public. People will not really be voting about Brexit this time, although May and the rest are going to use it in that cause; like in all general elections people will largely vote out of self-interest. Labour under Corby will be routed and any hard line policies the government deem as required will be more easily pushed through.

and lets not forget the irony that england yet again will decide how brexit is handled for the rest of us whether we like it or not.

i think the Tories will end up with about 100 more mp's than they got at the moment,
think it will work out for the Libs as well they could well end up with 30 mp's,

which they would both have to gain from presumably labour who would be decimated to little more than 100 seats. By far the worst result of either of the major parties since 1945 (off the top of my head the tories 165 is currently the worst). What colour are the clouds on your planet?

The best corbyn can hope for is a miracle coalition with the lib dems and snp but she's made a massive misjudgement here. She's brught forward an electable labour successor by three years and given the SNP a free trial run of a second referendum. She will be prime minister only until the day the scots inevitably vote out and then she will have to resign.
