To my reckoning it goes back 3 to 4 pages.

Those 'squabbles' are about current news items ALL mentioning May

^Criticizing or defending Theresa May is one thing but after a while it becomes a tit-for-tit situation which just descends into personal attacks.

Can do but I might call it a day on this subject anyway. It was never a productive or particularly respectful discussion between the two of us and I'll take my part of the blame for that.

^Wackawoo has got form in these sort of tit-for-tat exchanges anyway. My best advice is to ignore him, which is what most people on the forum do.Big Grin

Haha well yes I'm choosing to do that for his last post addressed to me. It's too nice a day out to spend too much time engaging someone who will only twist what I'm saying and double down anyway.

But I like to allow for the possibility that people who I disagree with occasionally have a point, so I wouldn't ignore as a general rule.

The UK public has a role to play in all this. With the power of social media these days we need to consider how we engaged in political comment about this subject: The fallout for this event goes well beyond party politics. We shouldn't let it be defined along those lines.

Grenfell is a symptom of all that's rotten in with the political elite of this country. Too many of them seem to treat it all as one gigantic game and have thoroughly insulated themselves against the real world consequences of their actions.

As with Brexit and other election results we have seen around the world lately people are now reacting to this kind of disparity. The public is expressing a desire to move away from this kind of politics.

Many chickens are coming home to roost.

Grenfell should be forced to stand as an epoch moment in our politician's attitude to their treatment of the poor in this country. Football changed its treatment and attitude to fans in the wake of Hillsborough, Grenfell should do the same for this country's treatment of its disaffected.

Labour's Jim McDonell seems to recongnise these things in his comments at Glastonbury yesterday (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40401314
); implicit as they are in their acknowledgment that politicians of all parties have been at fault here. Are his words merely the political opportunism of one who senses his opponents are on the ropes? If so the public should not stand for actions not following words on this one. It is up to us to make sure these kinds of statements are acted upon in the future.

The idea that the babeshows "are not that deep" is driven by those that don't wish to acknowledge how much effective customer service and a consideration of psychology impacts users' future interactions.

Politicians of all parties need to be very careful about laying any blame for Grenfell at a single party's door. If Mcdonnell was even handed yesterday then fair play to him although if the reports are correct his claim that Labour won the election is simply stupid as patently with fewer seats and fewer votes they did not Big Laugh

Looking at the Camden Tower blocks it seems they were refurbished back in 2006 so well before austerity although understanding of fire safety may well have been different then.

The Council Leader is Georgia Gould - Labour Party royalty before Corbyn became leader as she is the daughter of Philip Gould who was Blair's strategist and Gail Rebuck, Chair of Penguin Random House & a Labour Peer. Not so working class it seems. Have to say she has been impressive on camera though

How much for Mrs May to stay in power? One billion pounds it seems. That's how much extra she's paying to Northern Ireland so the DUP will prop up her minority government. Interesting to see where in an age of austerity that money is going to come from.

I see Corbyn told Micheal Eavis at the weekend that he would be Prime Minister within 6 months and that he would get rid of Trident as soon as possible. Should make his meeting with his own Trident supporting MP's fun later today.
