After the Higgins match finished last night, Eurosport repeated one of those Ronnie shows where he chatted with Joe Johnson about the 1986 World Championships. It's hardly the acme of interviewing, but he's a bit better than some so-called professionals whose trade it actually is. But I wouldn't want him taking over Question Time or anything.

Kyren Wilson comes from 2 - 5 down to beat Judd Burger King Trump 6 - 5 . Trumps Masters hopes are flame grilled for another season.

Mark Allen battered John Higgins 6-3, thus ensuring a new winner of the Masters tonight. Despite a no-nonsense demeanour, Allen did manage a few laughs including his rejection of the swan in frame 3, which I think left big Jan Verhaas a bit nonplussed (and he must think he's seen it all) Tongue

Allen and Wilson kept fairly close until 5-5, then Allen stepped it up to lead 8-5. Wilson came back to 8-7, but Allen finished it 10-7 Smile

I notice Allen made sure to acknowledge Barry Hearn in his speech, despite their past differences.

Barry has pointedly made clear to Ronnie that he's not making concessions to get him involved in the World Championships.

John Higgins and Ryan Day in a right old battle. Gone to a decider.
Littered with errors but also some decent breaks.
A strange match and now very tense.

Edit: Ryan Day clinched it with an excellent 128 total clearance.
