The Advance of the Far Right

Today saw the far right march in a bid to overturn the imprisonment of EDL leader Stephen Yaxley-Lennon erupt into violence as 5 police officers were injured, none serious. The march was attended by Dutch politician Geert Wilders who spoke at the rally, several other rallies are reported to have been held around the country, I have seen pictures of one in Belfast. A petition calling for Theresa May to overturn the sentencing has reached over half a million signatures and the motion has support all over the world. Signs of Free Tommy and Make Britain Great Again were seen at the rally as well as someone wearing a Donald Trump mask.


When I saw the pictures of the rally I was quite surprised at the numbers that were in attendance, regularly when the EDL try and organise these things they are a failure with only a few turning but there seemed to be a huge crowd though this did take place at the same time as Trooping the Colour so that may of had an impact. The Daily Mail reported it as thousands in attendance but that might just be the Nazi paper playing to the Nazi crowd


We are seeing the same pattern again with these kind of things, so much of this is based on falsehoods and misinformation including an astonishing lack of knowledge of our legal system that has seen people referring to the US legal system and how it appears on TV as opposed to our own legal system and how it works in real life and yet any attempt to try and combat this with the truth and fact falls on deaf ears

To sum it up, Stephen committed a crime, Stephen pleaded guilty to that crime, Stephen was given a second chance with a suspended sentence, Stephen committed the same crime again, Stephen pleaded guilty to the same crime again, Stephen was sent to jail

Here is a tweet by an alt right fascist account displaying a picture of what it claims is a march in support of Stephen. In actual fact it is a picture from Liverpool FC's 2005 Champions League Victory Parade. The fact that the account did this is not entirely surprising fascism depends on bullshit propaganda, what is concerning is that it has been liked and retweeted over 27 thousand times

It doesn't exactly help matters much when a national newspaper so abrasively propagates that fascism. First thing is first we have a newspaper owned by Australians telling us what is British, also nice picture of the Qatari funded Shard as one of the symbols of that Britishness

Second the use of the word betrayal is very dangerous. The media's use of words like betrayal, treason, rebels, mutineers when covering The Judges in the Article 50 cases or Tory MPs that voted against the Government on Brexit is a dereliction of duty by the media. Most people who read these words will either approve or disapprove but will remain largely unaffected, however there are those in society, those who have mental health issues, to whom this affects differently. I believe that it is incumbent upon our society to conduct itself in a way that takes the most vulnerable people within it into account. This is also why I disagree when people say that a right to hate speech should be protected so long as it's not inciting violence because even hate speech can incite those with mental health problems to commit violence. Thomas Mair the terrorist who murdered Jo Cox suffered from mental health problems, Darren Osborne The Finsbury Park Mosque Terrorist, found guilty of the murder of one & attempted murder of another, was on medication for depression. One last comment to prove my point on this is that when asked to give his name in court, Thomas Mair responded "Death to Traitors"

Finally it taps into the false narrative that voting against Brexit will go against the will of the people. As I have explained before this is false, we have a Parliamentary Democracy and only acts of Parliament are the will of the people, this is why The Government lost two Article 50 court cases because the rule of law is at the foundation of every democracy and that stipulates that Parliament is sovereign.
What this seeks to do is to feed into the false narrative that the zeitgeist supersedes, the law and the sovereignty of our parliament, the idea that you can rip up our legal and democratic system based on the opinion of 38% of an ever changing electorate in a snapshot in time is a hallmark of fascism

If Joseph Goebbels were alive to day he would probably applaud this headline, it is the latest in a production line of populist media propaganda that is striking at the very heart of our democracy, all so a bunch of rich elites can get out of paying a but more tax and not have to abide by so many rights for their workers who are already seeing inflation outstrip their wages it is incredibly dangerous

I think you lose credibility and undermine any legitimate points you might have by branding the Mail and it's readers "Nazi". That is just lazy, patently false name-calling. It seems to be a left wing tactic to label anyone to the right of Theresa May as "far right" or "Nazi". As for the remoaning...Parliament exercised sovereignty and expressed the will of the people in granting a referendum in June 2016. Further, on the £9milllion pound leaflet to all households, told voters: "This is your decision. The Government will implement what you decide".

I think Corbyn should go, he is not fit to be Leader or PM if he cannot tackle this issue effectively and even if he does get to grips with it it will be to little to late. I do consider anyone to the right of Theresa May to be far right based largely on the draconian illiberal policies implemented by her as Home Secretary, she is pretty far right herself. People think Caneron and other Tories like him are moderate but the Tories have not been moderate since Thatcher took over, its kind of forgotten now but Thatcher was the Tories Corbyn she was a back bencher from the far right of the party and faced a lot of opposition from within her own party until she started winning. Nigel Farage dubbed himself the heir to Thatcherism, most UKIP politicians are ex Tory happy to be considered Tories when she was around. Thatcher was the original Kipper

Parliament may have exercised sovereignty in granting the referendum but that does not mean that the referendum was the will of the people, that is why the Government lost two A50 cases in court, the law does not recognise referendums as the will of the people

As for the £9m (legal as not being investigated by The Electoral Comission or Police) leaflets they were released by Cameron's Government, Cameron resigned and his government was dissolved, May does not have to hold herself to the promises of her predecessor

I know I saw an interview with that little cocky terrorist defender Sadiq Khan (yes, barrister to convicted terrorists) describing it as a far right protest.

Itwasn't. It was a protest against freedom of speech.
Why would you have someone arrested and imprisoned for reporting on a case which has already given it's verdict. He asked a policeman if it was a problem and he was lied to.
His reporting could not influence the jury in the slightest because the jury were inside and had already given their verdict.

When white nonces are arrested and put on trial, there is no blanket ban on reporting, why is that? You only need to see the BBC coverage of Cliff Richard to realise the double standards.
Yet when gangs of Pakistani men are grooming young girls and whoring them out it is largely covered up, not only by the media (Including the Mail) but by the Police, the government, the local councils and bent MPs. Again, why is that?

When people stand up and voice an opinion on Islam they are branded islamphobic or racist, despite islam not being a race.I don't hear of seikphobia or busdistphobia, or heaven forbid, Christianaphobia.

Dare to challenge the status quo and you find yourself facing more time in prison then some of these islamic nonces.

To some people freedom of speech means the right to be racist it seems.

Freedom of speech is meant to mean freedom to speak equally.... not freedom to espouse views that are racist/facist and ultimately illegal!!
