Unfortunately, there are a few hard working members here who feel that's actually the case.....

I know of several members here that are very disgruntled in how the voting works here, as they feel the same names just get picked every year without proper action being heeded...

I however couldn't possibly comment on whether the voting is bent or not....

That clearly isn't true, as anyone can see for themselves. Otherwise, how does a newcomer like goatman get 5 nominations, and how does another newcomer like GreenMachine get to be a double finalist, both after posting for only a few months?

Some categories stupefy me year in & year out with their results, especially in recognition of utterly unmemorable achievements.

But then, I don't recall when I stopped offering suggested alternative nominations, if I ever did

Supposedly real-world awards aren't much more legitimate, either, of course

Of the 36 finalists this year there are 15 the same as last year. That does not strike me as a high enough number to support the above hypothesis.

I'm still pondering that, it doesn't realistically make sense for a newcomer to suddenly be in a contest with the more established members...but ours not to reason why, ours but to do, or die. I'd prefer not to die of course just grateful to the people that voted for me and win or lose the fact I was nominated at all is just amazing.

Now measure it on an award-by-award basis and see what happens
