Premier League 2019-2020

One of the plans that the FA are looking at is for the season to end after all the team have played 29 matches.
16 of the teams have already played 29 matches and only 4 clubs would need to play a match Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Sheffield United.
European places and relegation spots all being decided following those final two games.

These two matches could be played at the start of July.

So Liverpool would win the title.

^I like the idea, but I have to say a lot depends on where we are with the curve part and with the lockdown. Also then as the article suggests what happens when a player is seriously injured? I hsve to say that it would look silly if no physical contact was allowed (contact has to be allowed) but how can you have contact kept to a minimum to prevent serious injury?
Not only that then there would not be much of a break or transfer window after it is completed, when players contracts normally expire when was it, June?
Maybe it is better to finish the season behind closed doors now somehow or play them in a five a side style league format, but allow managers to rotate the players to keep serious injuries to a minimum

I mean yes this seems like a more better option but every solution seems unfair if you get what i mean.

Again good solution but what will happen to the teams in the other leagues.

It was a good read, but the other problem is the players contract side of thing as well. But what if they reduced games to say a five a side type game? You probably could get away with two rounds of matches in a day, with say a rolling substitution system like they do in Ice hockey (Rammy wil put probably put me right on this bit), thus reducing playing time and teams fielding two squads in two different venues and reduce to an extent the medical side of things And increase recovery time for the players therefore, you could probably feasibly allow plays to who are going to be out of contract finish up their contract and then negotiate new contract or negotiate a move away in time for the new season.
venues would be another problem I guess.

The Premier League season is set to restart on 17 June with Aston Villa v Sheffield United and Manchester City v Arsenal, the BBC has learned.

The matches are the two games in hand.

A full fixture list would then be played on the weekend of 19-21 June.

Clubs are still discussing the idea at a meeting on Thursday, but it is understood all have agreed in principle at this stage.

Good news, maybe it will mean more free to air games in future seasons on the BBC and Pick, especially if next season is played behind closed doors in its entirety, assuming of course there isn't another wave of covid that forces the UK into lockdown again.
