England rest Wood & bring back Woakes, Roy has a tight hamstring, & is replaced by Moeen Ali.
For Sri Lanka Oshada Fernanda & Lakshan Sandakan come in, with Avishka Fernando & Akila Dananjaya missing out.

England recorded a 89 run victory, making 180-6, with Malan making 76 & Bairstow 51. Chameera was the pick of the bowlers with 4-17. In reply, number nine Binura Fernando top scored with 20 as his side were bowled out for 91. Morgan used his 4 seamers for the first 16 overs, before he had to turn to spin.

Dawid Malan has left the squad for personal reasons, so Liam Livingstone will open with Bairstow, his 3rd partner in as many matches.

A comfortable 5 wicket win in the 1st ODI. Sri Lanka were bowled out in 42.3 overs, captain Perera top scored with 73, Hasaranga made 54. Woakes had impressive figures of 4-17, Willey took 3-44, Wood bowled with hostility.
In reply Bairstow set off like a man didn't want to miss the start of the football, making 43 off 21 balls. They could even afford a mini collapse losing 4-26, Before Root (77 no) & Ali (28) added 91. Sam Curran hit the winning boundary with 15.1 overs remaining.

England make 2 changes, Roy will replace Livingstone at the top of the order, & Tom Curran replaces Woakes.
Sri Lanka make 3 changes, Avishka Fernando, Dhananjaya de Silva & Asitha Fernando come in, Praveen Jayawickrama , Lakshan Sandakan & Ramesh Mendis miss out.
