Very Sad News that Legendary DJ Steve Wright has died aged 69

Always loved his show always kept me sane when at work and counting down the hours till 5pm and knocking off time

A very v sad day for broadcasting and radio.

I loved his shows on Radio 1 (probably was one of the most popular shows)

RIP and condolences to all his colleagues family and friends

Hard to take in - he was just on air at the weekend, sounding chipper as usual.

I listened to Steve Wright in the afternoon for years from radio 1 to radio 2. He was up there with Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce as one of the very best. He signed off with " see you next week" at the end of his Sunday show, sadly.that won't be the case.

So sad to hear this news. Steve was a brilliant DJ, in the very top echelon of broadcasters, and by all accounts a genuinely lovely man.

He's been on the radio for most of my life and it's strange to think we won't hear his voice any more.

A radio DJ legend.

Oh no. RIP

From his producers to the BBC Cleaning staff, he loved talking to people - he never did social media. What we have lost is a one of a kind human being - had time for everyone.
