Mark Cavendish out of Tour De France with a broken shoulder

Hope he makes a full recovery. His wife Peta Todd gave her reaction via videos on Instagram as it happened as she was doing her tour talk videos on there and she got quite emotional and said that it was especially tough for their daughter Delilah to see her dad crash like that and Delilah cried her eyes out.

Peta said it's been a "Crap Day" but she appreciates all the messages of support she's received on social media about Mark

some have said it is a harsh penalty on Sagan

Really harsh to throw Sagan out of race for me having watched the video of the incident

Apparently they are judging him on the consequences of the crash rather than the incident that caused the crash

I would say Cavendish got himself into a position where he had literally nowhere to go

Cutting across Cavendish was acceptable But Sagan's elbow helped ease him into the barrier.

Cavendish got a nerve seeing what he did in rio should have been chucked out then. sagan was cutting him off was minimal contact but at the speeds they were doing that was enough just hope it doesnt sterilze sprinting now

Good job there was a crash before this one coz if that was a real bunch sprint with all major GC riders just in behind could have had 30 or 40 on the deck. Aren't sprinters not supposed to move off their line?
