The mechanic fixed Aru's bike on the move whilst hanging out of a team car.

^It was Rigoberto Uran who had the mobile service. Looked like his rear derailleur was knackered but it didn't stop him from winning the stage

Fractured Clavicle & Pelvis for Richie Porte. Bad enough but could have been a lot worse.

What are the rules about attacking in Tour de France? Apparently can't do it when yellow jersey has a mechanical problem but if a rider gets taken out by another rider then it is fair game.

There are no rules as such. There's an unwritten rule that you don't attack the Yellow Jersey if he has a mechanical issue, is recovering from a crash or has stopped for a "natural break".

If it's early in the stage then they will usually ease up for another GC contender but once the race is on towards the end of the stage it's not going to happen.

I like this new 3 second rule for flat stages which means the non sprinters/GC guys can sit back and let the sprinters fight it out at the finish without losing any time

Chris Froome finishes 13 secs behind the winner.
Italian rider Aru takes over the yellow jersey by 6 secs over Froome

RE: Tour de France
I presume there must have been time bonuses at the end of the stage for Aru to take over yellow jersey then

^ 10, 6 & 4 seconds to the first 3 over the line. No bonuses in the Time Trials.

Froome has stuck it up the partisan French crowd by nearly overtaking local hero Bardot

Froome finishes 3rd and has probably done to allow a procession tomorrow being 54 sec in the lead
