Chris Froome moves up from 4th to first on penultimate mountain stage of the Giro d'Italia, after breaking away with 80km to go. Goes into last proper day with a 40 second lead, while Simon Yates who had been the GC leader, finished 38 minutes back on the tough climb.

A couple of spectators chased Froome with a giant asthma inhaler :
