It is thought Paris 2024 final budget will reveal a surplus of around 26m euros. I would wager LA 2028 probably seeing how Paris did it & even how London did it it probably is looking at ensuring there is sustainabilty withhin the community afterwards given now how much cost have risen

The last time LA staged it, it made a profit in 1984.

I'd only just noticed Snooks' avatar for LA'28 and he'd already changed it before I could comment on it. I mean, I know I'm a hypocrite for pointing out anyone else changing their avatar willy-nilly.

I changed it to the Winter Olympic one in 2026 purely because that one comes first .

The one consolation I suppose is that the position has gone to a former Olympian. A former Olympic athlete.
As Lord Coe himself concluded this is important from the point of view of the athletes. Hopefully she will represent their interests as keenly as possible.

You've got to laugh when Coe was being bigged up as the favourite by the BBC and then only got a handful of votes. Maybe being a tedious prig counted against him? Or maybe it was time they let some chick get a go in charge?
