RE: Gotham
Interesting watching the latest episode of GOTHAM, the premise that Jeremiah Valeska is the Joker(when in the 1989 film it was Jack Napier(Jack Nicholson) who ended up becoming the Joker. Here it shows Bruce Wayne and Valeska tussling at the ACE Chemicals factory when in the film it was BATMAN and Jack who tussled and it was a deflected bullet that hit Jack causing him to fall into the vat. Interesting point 2 was the chemical rockets being made to spread toxic gas, whereas in the film it was canisters of compressed gas with the SMILEX chemical attached to giant New Year style balloons that were to be released over Gotham. Interesting point 3 in that episode it showed Bruce's parents and him had gone to see a film 'The Mark of Zorro' but again in the film they had gone to the theatre to see an opera and a scene with a man dressed as a bat frightened Bruce as a child. And interesting point 4, Ecco is the female sidekick to Valeska and not Harley Quinn(or does she come later?) Either way it's an interesting diversion from the original film which only those of us that were around in 1989 would remember.

RE: Gotham
Right watched the final two episodes and that was pretty full on with some light-hearted moments. It's an interesting premise that Bruce and Selina knew each other as kids, then became lovers but that eventually he would end up battling her as Catwoman. The Riddler and Penguin revert back to form, after helping to save Gotham and finally Jim Gordon becomes Commissioner and has a daughter called Barbara(who would eventually become Batgirl/Oracle) Bruce flew off leaving a bereft Selina to 'find' himself and eventually return to become the man who, would try and save Gotham from the various villains. Maybe that was what turned her into Catwoman(although in the second film Batman Returns it showed her looking after dozens of cats and then being pushed out of her flat window (by Max Shrek) changing her completely))
Alfred who nearly had his chips thanks to Bane survived to be the butler again to Bruce(Sean Pertwee excellent as the cockney ex Mi6 man) Episode 10 was interesting as it was written by Ben McKenzie(Gordon) and directed by Erin Richards(Barbara Kean) including a drug -induced 'trial' of James Gordon in his head after being shot by Victor Zsasz. Will watch the very last episode when the arrival of the Dark Knight heralded the start of the Batman era shortly. Shame this series is to end, I think it could have gone one more to show how Batman started to make a difference.
