RE: Mental Health of Callers
The banter in this thread is more entertaining that some of the shows on the channels Bounce

On a serious note, this thread has made me think about the multiple types of behaviours that are mentally unhealthy about being a fan of the channels.

Getting yourself into debt is clearly one. Neglecting your job, family and friends is another. Then you've got the obsessive and abusive punters, that could potentially stalk or harm a babe.

The channels should do more to hide where their studios are based. And babes shouldn't share so much of their personal information/lives on social media.

It's like Brooksie says the shows are a bit of fantasy. But some punters take it too far and need professional help for their addiction.

Dedicating every waking moment and every penny you have to the channels and babes isn't healthy. That time and money would be better spent elsewhere, on things that would actually improve your lives.

I say all of the above as someone that's been there, done it and got the t-shirt. The adrenalin rush quickly wears off and the cold realisation that you just wasted so much time and paid silly money for a wank hits hard.

That's why Brooks is one of the best. She knows the point of the shows. Stella Paris is another one who has mentioned the fantasy aspect

I've been going thru that cold realization for a while now. I've paired down my spending habits a lot over the last few months. Holy shit, life is better on the other side. At least with the Wallet Big Laugh

Sometimes you need to see the forest from the trees. Seeing other punters on there, just made me more interested in the punter. What do they do for income? Is their cashflow tied to something tragic like a loss of a love one? Do they like sports? Well yeah they like sports, that's what I converse with them about Bounce

These threads have been a big help for me turning the corner, cause I'm not alone. Yeah, it's nice to have a little fun, after a while it's not fun and it's just a habit. Not a pleasurable habit. I have "other avenues" if I'm looking for that sort of entertainment.

Besides how much of "SlateStation" can a man take?

I cannot find the original post...or remember the author but it suggested that the addiction to a babe or calling is because the shows can produce the same effects as gambling
Which seemed right ... Will I get attention (win)
Will there be a show of affection (big win)
I used to call, when that was the only option....and agree that it was the same rush as having a bet

My warning level is 0%
What am i doing wrong?

So much of what ryuken and ukudagolf has said resonates with me. Nothing worse than that realisation that you've wasted so much money on a wank.

Wasn't even getting my money's worth on the calls either given the time taken to get through and a sense of embarrassment once I was finally speaking to the babe, I'd say a few things then "end the call" rather quickly.

Late 08 and early 09 was the worst time for me and I remember once my mobile provider wouldn't let me top up as I'd reached the limit for that month! Scary stuff.

Gradually weaned myself from thst point but i remember coming in early on New Year's Day 2012 and Fernanda was on screen. I tried unsuccessfully three times to get through and the calls cost the wrong side of 100 quid in total. A few mates were going away for the weekend shortly after but I didn't go, to teach myself a lesson for wasting my money.

I honestly can't remember the last time I called the channels and I'm so much better for it, emotionally, financially and everything else.

Nothing worse than that post nut clarity when you know you’ve spent too much on calls. Luckily I very rarely call these days. I think it might be the quality of the shows which I believe have gone down. Also girls that I really liked chatting with (Missy Leanne, Jade Rabbit, Yasmin Nicole, Rosie Harper) are gone now. The few that I really like are all day girls, and I’m usually at work so can’t talk with them. I just checked my phone to see the last time I called an 09 number and it was early December. Love this forum though! I guess I’ll just stick to lurking!

Oh, and in addendum to this, the price of living is crazy high. I simply cannot justify paying £20 plus for a wank when pornhub is free. Smile

You are right on the money with that
It falls into the gambler mentality. If I'm down, I'll chase
Once you are chasing, it's not all that fun anymore

I tend to think that's what a lot of the bigger spenders are doing. Not really enjoying it, but trying to capture a feeling that once was there.

I didn't think I was that bad until recently. From not going on the shows, I have more money for other things. More tangible things than a chase
