RIP Chrissy Rousse/Phil Read

Motorbike circuit racing has had a bad couple of days, with the passing of one true legend, and an up - and - coming next generation competitor in the BSB series

PHIL READ : A legend of every class of racing died at the age of 83 after a battle with cancer. Phil succeeded in becoming multiple time world champion in all three classes at GP level 125 250 and 500cc - 7 world championships in all. Add to that, 8 - times champion at the TT with 13 podium placings overall, and you have one of the best of all time!

CHRISSY ROUSE : at the other end of the scale, Chrissy Rousse lost his life following a crash at the Donnington round of the BSB at the age of 26 - in a crash that should not be witnessed by anyone who didn't see it live, and on a scale barely comprehensible! Chrissy was - yes established - but he had one top ten finish in BSB, but it was as he was coming through the ranks/classes that his talent was clear, winning the superteens championship before moving up to the 125cc championship aged 14. He also won the Triumph Triple Challenge at the age 0f 16 with ten wins and the rest nowhere!
