Rafa Nadal retirement Stats & Thread

As Spain were knocked out of the Davis Cup, we witnessed the curtain fall on one of the greatest players of all time:- Rafa Nadal.

22 Careeer Grand Slam titles, 36 ATP 1000 titles. At the age of 24 he was the youngest to win a Career Grand slam and is the first man to win a Grand Slam title on different surface within a calendar year.

2 Olympic golds Singles in Beijing & Doubles in Rio.

He also holds the record for the longest winning streak on clay - 81 games unbeaten between April 2005 and May 2007 couple that with 14 French Open titles.

Most astonishing of all Nadal won four Grand Slam titles without dropping a set, surpassing Bjorn Borg (2008, 2010, 2017 & 2020 French Open)

He is the 6th player to be ranked at No.1 for more than 200 weeks & qualified 16 times consecutively for the ATP Finals.(2005-2020)


How we will miss him and how diffferent men's tennis in 2025 will be without him.

His record at the french open was just frightening noone will EVER get close to that
His battles with Novak roger and Andy I always enjoyed despite how much it caused a lot of pain for both of them wouldn't surprise me if they come out for charity events

He was part of a golden generation, probably the greatest bunch of male tennis players there has ever been, with Federer, Djokovic and sometimes Murray and maybe 1 or 2 others. As time and pain have caught almost all of them up, we can be grateful we were able to enjoy these momentous years of triumph and great matches.

Def was a golden generation Doddle and probably never to br repeataed for a few years. And you now must wonder just how much longer Djokovic has left in him.

If Nadal's last few years hadn't been so injury prone I am pretty sure there would have several more slams added to that list. I would say it is very likely that no one will ever get close to that record on clay at the french, I am sure Alcaraz probably could, but I would think it will take him time to master clay.

Above all else. Nadsl possessed and brough a touch of humility to tennis. He always fought hard but was gracious in defeat that is something you don't often see a lot of.
