Forum changes and new features
This thread is to inform members of some changes to the forum and new features which have been introduced. Please don't post here if something appears not to be working - for any issues with the working of the forum since the recent upgrade, please post in the forum upgrade thread, so that this thread can act purely as a reference for the changes that have taken place.

Forum upgrade thread: http://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=9492

Several members have asked about the warning level which they now see under their name. Please note this is only visible to yourself and to forum staff and therefore cannot be seen by other members. The warning system is used by the moderators to warn members if their posts are exceeding the degree of nuisance which the moderators feel able to tolerate. If you have a warning level of 0%, that indicates that you do not currently have any warnings from moderators concerning your conduct. Remember 0% is good and all other members have a warning level too, but just as they can't see yours, you can't see theirs either, as warnings are meant to be a private matter between the member concerned and the moderators.

RE: Forum changes and new features
Further explanation regarding the warning system:

Please note there is no such thing as a fixed or standard warning in the new warning system, so that any warnings given do not increase a member's warning level by a set percentage. A warning may be a minor warning or it may be a major warning or it may be somewhere in between, so it's not the case that all warnings will increase a member's warning level by the same amount.

The old warning system of yellow, orange and red cards is now obsolete. Any outstanding cards which members have will be withdrawn and the members concerned will either be given a fresh start with a clean warning record or may possibly have to incur a replacement warning to be given under the new warning system.

RE: Forum changes and new features
Unfortunately the previous thanks button isn't compatible with the upgraded version of the forum and couldn't be reinstalled. Fortunately a new thanks button was able to be sourced which is perfectly compatible.

Changes are as follows:

* The thanks given with the previous button can no longer be displayed in the forum (although the data still exists and will be published in the forum in some form, so that the old thanks are not forgotten).
* The new thanks does not have a display box of it's own as the previous thanks did, but is instead displayed inside the thanked post (the exact display position depends on whether you are using the modern or the classic forum display mode).
* The new thanks button doesn't automatically refresh the button when a thanks is given, so it doesn't immediately display the delete thanks button and to see it you need to reload the page. However, in order to allow you to delete a thanks immediately without having to reload the page, an exclamation mark following your name in the thanks list provides an alternative way of removing a thanks. Clicking the exclamation mark does exactly the same as clicking the delete thanks button.
* In one respect the new thanks button is much more advanced than the previous button, because it automatically tallies the thanks which are given, which is quite a big step forward. The tally of thanks a member has received is displayed in the member's profile.

Ignore list: as in the original forum, the ignore list can be used if you don't want to receive PMs from another member. You can find this option as before in your User CP. However, putting a member on your ignore list now also warns you if you come across any of their posts in the forum, so that in effect you have the choice of ignoring their forum posts too if you want to.

Display modes:

Since the upgrade, the forum has two different display modes and members can choose which one they wish to use. Classic mode shows the author information to the left of the post, as was used in the original forum, and modern mode shows the author information above the post. You can change your viewing mode in your User CP by finding the option 'Display posts in classic mode' which is under the heading 'Thread View Options'. Leave the box unchecked to display posts in modern mode and check it to display posts in classic mode.

RE: Forum changes and new features
As a couple of members have enquired about the "Quick Reply" box, please note that since the forum upgrade this is now a user controlled feature, so you can enable it or disable it in your User CP.

User CP > Edit Options > Thread View Options > Show the quick reply box on the view thread page
