RE: Is Porn Prostitution?
Yes when you consider a certain porn company is a glorified brothel

RE: Escorting
I often agree with Vila's posts, but this is complete nonsense I'm afraid.
Porn is prostitution (and visa versa to some extent).
The "setting", who pays the money, etc. are "niceties" - the woman is being paid for sex pure and simple. Ironically, with the flood of online porn, prostitution may be a better "career choice" - it's no coincidence that pornstars like Sunny Lane work at The Bunny Ranch.
I'm not passing judgement on either profession, but "pornstar" and "prostitute" are jobs in the same meat market.

And yes, there are some technical differences. But lets not kid ourselves, whether you consider yourself a porn star or an escort, you are getting paid for sex.
Paying for sex is when one person directly pays another for sexual favours. This is what happens between an escort and her client. (Edit: For completeness I should add that payment is sometimes made by a third party by way of a gift.)
Except in a few specific scenarios, porn stars aren't paid for sex by the people they have sex with (and even in those exceptions the primary purpose isn't pleasuring the payer). They are paid by the production company to perform sexual acts with each other. Totally different concept.
Sex and payment both take place in two otherwise totally dissimilar professions. That's as close to a similarity as you'll get.
So, far from there being only one difference, there's actually only one (fairly tenuous) similarity.

Tobey Maguire rode a horse in a movie - and he was a jockey

RE: Is Porn Prostitution?
It's your post that's ridiculous, Scotsman.
The woman is being paid to have sex - period.
The details of the transaction you outline are just that - details.
Your question "If Brad Pitt were to ride a horse in a movie, is he a jockey?..." is the wrong way around...
It's the horse that's being ridden - does it care whether it's being ridden by Brad Pitt in a movie or taken for an evening cantor by the movie's director?
Answer no - it still has some arsehole on its back.

Escorting is being paid to spend a certain amount of time with an individual, where sex is implied. It's a one on one business transaction. The individual pays the girl for her time and companionship. A percentage of that then may go to her agency or the parlour, but mainly it's one person paying another for companionship.
Porn is an individual or company paying two or more people to have sex acts on camera to be distributed for entertainment purposes. Both parties involved in the sex are paid for it and are performing for the cameras.
Whether it's enjoyed or not is not a defining factor in either instance.
The whole debate is stupid anyway. If Brad Pitt were to ride a horse in a movie, is he a jockey?
