RE: GTA IV: The Lost & Damned
I thought i would write my thoughts on GtA, i chose to write here instead of making a new thread just for one game so here go. In my view i felt the game was way over rated especially by sites such as ign, where do i feel it went wrong for me for a start the controls it handles very badly when you driving a car in the game it feels like the car is all over the place and its even worse when your doing a mission when your chasing after someone for some odd reason there cars seem to handle perfectly and even when you have a fast car you still can't catch them. Another bad thing about the game is the missions say for example your doing a mission and you fail it you have to whole chunk of it over to get to where you where. Personally i thought the best GTA game was Vice City, the missions where a lot more fun, you buy house and expand your empire and even buy business and earn your own money, you can't seem to do any of that in GTA 4, don't get me wrong the graphics are pretty good but apart from that a really big let down for me am half way through the game and i just gave up with it. When i heard that rockstar would be making red dead redemption using the same engine at first i was put off by it but decided to give a try. Am really glad i did as its way better game, better storyline, graphics and the controls, i couldn't put the game down once i started it. I know the genre of both games are different but this how GTA 4 should have been it needs to back to being less serious and the controls really need to be worked on if ever decided to make another one, apart from that i was very disappointed with GTA 4.

RE: GTA IV: The Lost & Damned
I also preferred Vice City and San Andreas to GTA4.
Someone got me the Episodes from Liberty City add ons for Xmas, and although they're short, they do add to the game.
The music (including Vice City FM ) certainly has more going for it than GTA4's.
Lost and Damned achievements were pretty easy, but 2 of the Gay Tony ones are gonna take ages to get.
The Ballad Of Gay Tony certainly felt a bit more like San Andreas, if only because of the mini-games. But I also was hoping for a jetpack to fly around on. GTA4 was perhaps supposed to be more realistic than S.A. and for that it suffers. Hand to hand combat I found VERY awkward, and the "internet" dull, with most pages being un-interactive.
Wonder where the next one will be set?
