Playboy TV - Discussion

Now following on from a rant I had in a previous thread discussing this issue I thought it correct to have it out in the open.

As it stands I do not subscribe to any of the Playboy channels, I used to but I cancelled a few years ago after becoming decidingly pissed off with the mandatory pin code aswell as the lack of new programming.

What I used to love about this channel first and foremost was that compared to television X it had a more up market feel to it aswell as bringing us groundbreaking programmes such as nightcalls live and didn't seem to unlike a lot of others air an endless show of repeats.

What pissed me off about this channel was when they decided overnight that you now had to put in your pin code each and every time you changed channel. Also if you had missed the start of the programme it wouldn't let you record it either and would often inform you that it was too late to purchase the programme, now that's a bit rich if you are allready paying out money for a subscription, it's part and parcel of the deal you'd think. Also like I said it's the same old programmes they show night after night too with absolutely nothing new.

If for example this was to occur on let's say SKY Sports they'd be an almighty outcry but hey ho because it's a porno channel it's ok to piss the customers off.

As it stands I won't be rushing into a new subscription until I see major new changes implemented. Your thoughts please

According to their customer services you have to put a PIN in every time as their software is not compatible with Sky.....utter and complete bollox. As for output they are re re-running shows that are over 10 years old such as Class Action and the newer stuff is either TVX level drivel such as Marino and his old and I mean old Ben Dover type shows or non Playboy cut to bits hardcore. What they should be showing is the latest Viv Thomas or equivalent...classy looking girls with real breasts, no tats etc. Playboy was always about the quality of the girls as much as the action.
If they do bring back live stuff then give us a 2012 version of SXTV....with a mix of older and younger models and some decent camera work.

$ky and PIN don't to me seem related given it happens with other satellite receivers as well - so that would presuppose this incompatibility is actually part of the transponder/video stream.
Certainly I know that using other satellite receivers does not get around the mandatory PIN on the Playboy channels. For other $ky channels where mandatory PIN is used, for example films with say 15 cert shown earlier in the day, this is fine and works on other receivers and you can bypass the mandatory PIN by having this automatically set along with the correct level of parental controls (or turn off parental controls).
It's also not consistent across the Playboy channels. I can only comment on the 3 channels I subscribe to, but Playboy and Ex-Girlfriends require PIN on every programme change, whereas Adult Channel doesn't (or at least doesn't all the time). But all require it when you first go to the channel, and on every and any other time you go to the channel.
It's been in place for several years and I don't see them removing it anytime soon...

In terms of live content, whilst I would welcome it's return to the main channels I somehow doubt it will happen. We'll have to be content with 30 minutes of Lena, and of course Babestation Xtreme live shows.

As a general observation on the content/output of the channels, I would say there's been between 3 and 4 new shows every month or so, and also the strength of some of the newer content is improving. This is likely down to better understanding and/or intepretation of the regulators suggestions around content allowed or not.
Hey if you want to see women grasping and just about to lick/suck something, then these newer shows will cater for you. Personally I'm not at all interested in B/G, so don't give two hoots about that. They need to improve the solo and G/G content to similar levels...

Call me old fashioned but watching nothing but programmes depicting the women going hammer and tongs can get very repetitive, I used to have a second satelite dish and I used to enjoy the DFS late night sexy sports clips, just good old fashioned nudity.

Also I enjoy watching classy playboy shoots too, you don't really have to allways see the money shot or dildos being thurst up the vagina all the time, it just gets boring.

A decent live show such as SXTV live or nightcalls with the studio and audience format was allways interesting viewing.

If I see the mandatory pin requirement go aswell as more of the above suggested programming I'll be the first to subscribe to this channel once more again.

I'd be very interested to hear what a channel rep from Playboy TV has to say on some of the issues discussed here, afterall if they want to drum up more business then they must start listening to the customers for a change
