Yup, I've experienced the Vinyl player. Easy to use but expensive for what is basically a USB connection, especially as the main piece of software it uses is the aforementioned Audacity which is free. Fine if you need something to play the source on, but IMO waste of money if you already have the equipment

To add to that the new software is EZ Vinyl Converter which is streets ahead of Audicity which is actually over complicated TBH.EZ Vinyl converter also checks Gracenote and if it finds a match will automatically label it and transfer it ti iTunes.

TBH Audacity can look a bit confusing at first and it does have editing tools that won't be required. However all that would need to be done in this case would be start the recording, stop the recording, and trim the end off the start end from the time delays of starting and stopping the tape.

Yeah I have a vague recollection of EZ Vinyl converter with the Ion products. Apart from the audio tags it adds though from what I remember it needs Audacity to run as it is just a front end. Nice and simple but I used to play around with MIDI sequencing and audio files in my much wasted youth when I used Amiga hardware so it just feels more natural for me to use something where I can actually see the waveform. Each to their own I guess but I like to see that something is actually working rather than trust a (un)user friendly message Big Grin

As for the video clip. Haven't confirmed it'll work. Should be fine but there are several updates to Movie Maker and that looks like the original release so be advised the screens you see might differ slightly. Oh and things will differ quite significantly in Vista as it uses volume controls per program rather than per channel and thus the volume checking part at the start is different. Fine for just the odd clip, but going to be a chore if you have more than a few to do
