RE: West Indies v England 2015
^ I like the fact that 5 Yorkshire players make it into your starting XI,whereas they had 4 of em doing nowt on this tour.
A 3 match series with no ODI's or T20's & we have a squad of 17 when they wrongly flew out an under prepared Moeen Ali for the 2nd Test.
14 players would be plenty,Bairstow can cover as keeper & reserve batsmen,he's good enough to bat at 5.Root is good enough as a 2nd spinner so either Treadwell or Rashid not both.Stokes has to bat no lower than 6 if he plays & his bowling is a bonus, not good enough as a 3rd seamer yet.
The decision was made long ago for Trott to open with Cook so why take Lyth.I imagine when he finally gets his chance they'll expect miracles, don't expect a dasher like Warner. He did take 32 catches in 16 Championship games last year mostly at slip which England need.
Moores will get sacked soon & Dizzy is on Colin Graves shopping list,I just can't see him wanting to go head to head with his old mate Boof. The best coaches are getting paid a fortune for a few weeks in the IPL against living in hotels away from family for most of the year which is why we ended up with Moores not Tom Moody.Newell & Robinson are the best English coaches but like Moores they have no International experience.
If KP comes back I'd make him bat No.3 Ballance can drop to 4 maybe gamble with Hales to replace Cook at the top of the order.
Whoever takes on the role of spinner will more than likely get hammered by NZ & Oz but ,a big opportunity missed not trying Rashid against the 8th ranked Test side,Treadwell is a poor mans Swann but I fear he's the best we've got.
Anderson & Broad need splitting up,otherwise well need to find 2 new ball bowlers, maybe a fit again Woakes could replace Broad but he needs to improve.Outside bets left arm fast bowlers Mills or Footitt, clutching at straws.
