Nope. 2 is absolutely true.

It was a flight to Turkey, back when he was Mayor of London. Technically, he was across the aisle from me in the economy section. Must have been a personal flight -- which was weird, because there was no young floozy with him

Amazingly, statement 1 is also true. Admittedly, it was a loooong time ago, when I was in the under-21 category and still in reasonably good shape.

The lie is statement 3. I did take a bet that I could skip one day of school per week for a full school year ... but I lost the bet.

I made it to about the middle of February, when one of my idiot classmates blurted out what I was doing to one of the "cool" teachers, thinking she'd find it funny. She did not find it funny. I was summoned to the headmaster and threatened with suspension if I missed another day without a doctor's note.

Oh sod it I may as well pipe up with these seeing as I am bound to be embarrassed no matter what the lie is.

1. I once won an apple pie making competition only to choke on my own winning pie when eating it myself at home

2. I once sent a secret admirer Valentines card to a lady 30 years older than me and to this day have never told her it was me that sent it even though the sentiment was genuine

3. I threw what would have been a winning distance in the discus competition at school only for the throw to not count as I had been deemed to leave the circle 3 seconds too early
