Posting of Teresa May images????
"Posting of Teresa May images

To all members of this forum, please be informed it is not acceptable for you to post pornographic images of me nor images where there is a male in the photo, as all such images of me are copyright material.

Kindly abide by this and all will be fime and I will be a happy Teresa
Thank you"

I did see this ages ago and meant to post then hope this is not an unacceptable way of replying to a locked topic (If so delete)
My question is, understandable request this might be but what is the basis for this
If Teresa May owns the copyright to every single "pornographic image of herself and all images where there is a male in the photo"
Then this is a perfectly reasonable request which can be backed up by a genuine DMCA complaint for any infringement
Most websites will comply and remove the material, they don't want a legal fight they will lose
My only problem is that i find it hard to believe (please correct me if i am wrong) that she does own the copyright to all these photos
That would be very rare for any porn star
So is she really saying that someone not necessarily herself owns the copyright and they shouldn't be posted without prior consent
If that is the case she is being a bit cheeky because if as a model you do a photoshhot and sign over copyright to the photographer, then you have no control or say in how they are used
Sadly this is a tactic often used by people who don't own copyright to remove material they have no control over
Be interesting to know the answer
Genuine copyright holders can issue a DMCA which is a legal document stating ownership unless you get one of these best to use a pinch of salt when reading complaints and politely ask for a proper DMCA notification to be issued so you can deal with the complaint

I don't recall saying I own the copyright to each and every image of me but all images are copyright and unless you are the copyright owner then you have no right whatsoever to post them. THat said I do own copyright to many tens of thousands of images and have everyright to say how they are used also the model release forms I have signed have clauses in them that stipulate how they may be used.

@bob664

This site is always respectful of copyright claims, that goes without saying. However there is also the matter of politeness. While we could ask for a DMCA notice for each and every image posted on the site, it's a much more sensible tactic to work on the basis of a quiet word being all that's required. If we go down the legal route, there are hundreds of photographers, broadcasters, film makers et al, who could make our life very dificult indeed, making the forum unworkable in it's current format.

We could tell a model to get stuffed if she doesn't have a DMCA notice, but if the model is particularly well liked, there could be dozens or even hundreds of images of her on the site. She could quite easily alert every single copyright owner of those images, meaning the site would be swamped with hundreds of DMCA notices and copyright claims, opening us up to legal action from a multitude of plaintiffs. While this may be fine for the owners of multi-national torrent sites and peer-to-peer networks, it's not the wisest course of action for a small website dealing with niche interest television. While we may be one of the most successful websites dealing with the interest that brought us all here, we're still miniscule compared to some of the giant sites destroyed by copyright suits.

We aren't naive or gullible enough to assume that a username means someone is who they claim to be. All models on the site have either verified their identity, or were referred to the site from reliable sources so when we're asked to do something it comes straight from the horses mouth, to coin a phrase, and we're happy to comply with that request.

"You say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I say that I tailor my jokes to the audience..."
