An excellent film-maker, a very thoughtful person and a weird American.

Very sad news.
One of my favourite directors.
I loved how he juxtaposed dark sound design with beautiful visuals, or would layer a sweet soundtrack over disturbing visuals - way before Tarintino and the likes.
Surreal, off kilter, hugely imaginative, and actually funny as hell sometimes too imho.

A prolific filmmaker who created some of the most innovative, complex and thought-provoking movies and shows, each with their own wonderfully weird characters.

Lots of acclaim went to Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet. I always liked Lost Highway - such a bizarre but enjoyable concept. His invention and imagination will be missed.
