There is every possibility that eventully Putin wil force Trump into a corner where he can't back down or escape. How Trump can even side with Putin who the whole world KNOWS instigated the war in the first place is beyond me!!

Can't help feeling the sudden overnight imposition of the previously 'on hold' tariffs was an attempt to take a little bit of attention away from his abandonment of Ukraine and complete capitulation to Putin, given the flak he's been getting from some quarters for his behaviour, and given that europe and, dare I say it, Starmer, have risen to the occasion and taken some of the leadership of the Ukraine question away from him.

That countdown to doomsday clock they have somewhere must have just ticked a bit closer to the midnight hour!

The thing is that the more America tries to restrict access to the latest cutting edge technology from China, the more aggressively China seems to innovate past those restrictions.

this has been in the works for years after the shortage during covid and the price rises due to crypto mining and the boost need in silicon for AI and the fact that china invading taiwan would seriously dent production

its got fuck all to do with tariffs
