Josh, as a 'master' vid poster, what's the resolution you work to?

I've just checked aradl's vid which plays perfectly at 16x9 by default and its apparently encoded at 720x576 - which makes no sense to me whatsoever (I'd have expected it to be 1024x576).

I've checked another by bluearmy that's almost perfect 16x9 by default and that's encoded at 704x408.

I can only assume that the playback aspect ratio is totally independent of the actual frame size. I guess this is a result of different systems all converging from 4x3 at 480 lines on NTSC or 576 lines on PAL and having to fit the new standard widescreen and HDTV modes replacing them.

I'm no master, I have just evolved over time. My first wave of vids were crap. Most my vids are 1024x576 (16:9). It depends what encoder you use. You can select a res of 720x576 and set the aspect ratio to 16:9.

720x576 is 4:3 ratio (not exactly,but close enough). The player may still be in default 16:9 mode, so it plays adarl's vid in full widescreen. Thats how I set up my players(except for WMP). So any vid I download plays in 16:9 ratio. If you play the file in WMP, then you get two vertical black bars either side of the vid.

For the longer vids I make that are over an hour, I use 720x400 resolution (close as possible to 16:9) as I drop the bitrate by up to 300 kbps. Therefore I get a quality picture when upscalling to full screen. Well I think the Danica vids turned out ok.

I only try and use the two resolutions mentioned as they give true 16:9 aspect ratio. If in doubt, divide the resolution ( 1024/576 & 720/400 = 1.78) Anything else and you get distortion of the image for the vids.

That was an awesome set although it did get more than half the night shift in trouble for refusing to go back to work for 20 minutes praying for a little slip

720x576 is what you get if you use a normal DVD±RW to transfer from a DVD recorder to your PC, like myself and a lot of other people do.
My vids from babestation via DVD are recorded in "letter box" mode and after cropping off the black boarders finish up at about 688x430 and play with 16:10 VLC mode.
They are sometimes scaled down a bit as well to reduce the filesizes for people who don't like large downloads. Before the onscreen graphics changed recently, I used to crop off even more in the vertical dimension and they came out at 16:9

There was a split second of frontal pink when Paige turned over on to her back (on the Freeview version). I didn't record last night unfortunately. Paige was mostly very static lying on her front and often back to her old self with handbra firmly in place - except for a minute or two on the pole.

Strange how she can go from two minutes standing at the pole with her right breast fully on view to covering up like crazy a few minutes later. Maybe it is - as Lori said of herself - just a habit she's got into over the months and years.

Thanks for the replies re converting etc. I'm not sure I'm any the wiser! I should also have added that I'm recording from Sky via Sky+ to HDD and editing to DVD (elderly version without HDMI connection), then to PC for conversion, so lossless it ain't! Anybody know what bitrate the Cellcast channels use??

I could then find it easier than wading through five and a half hours of BS1 Freeview programming! Thanks if you are able to help me with this!

It wsa during the second stint she did wearing that dress (on Freeviw). No idea what channel. Shouldn't take long to find. She only turned over on to her back once, I think. Sorry not to be more exact.

I am undecided if I will continue to record any more Cellcast channels. My cellcast uploads are on the slide (single figure downloads for many vids). Probably more to do with the repetitive nature and tameness of the show. I will upload what I have then may call it a day.

Hi there. Thanks for that. I better re-watch my recording of the Bs1 show;I think I remember that dress;perhaps I blinked at the particular moment it happened! Thanks again;at least it was Freeview so I may well have it!
