I wonder how long it will be before Musk walks out of his administration? I have to say the signs are Trump's appointment of him is going to spectacularly backfire posssibly before he takes even takes office.

Not a fan of either but it's an interesting situation.
Trump is stuck, Musk was a massive factor in him winning but can he get rid of him?
Musk will know lots of Trumps secrets.
If Musk is causing problems with other countries, if something kicks off in the world, the US always rely on the UK and a lot of Europe for help. Trump knows Musk is pissing alot of those countries off.

I would think most countries will have wished they had said to Trump when he appointed him in the first place : "We warned you!"

I wouldn't be too surprised if Governments eventually turn on Trump to get him to fire Musk before he takes office.

Gettting rid of Musk is probably a bit like getting rid of a problem rat infestation I suppose.

And Musk is the King Rat that needs exterminating very quickly. The funny thing is - there is a part of me that likens this whole charade (if you can call it that), to that sequence in Dr Who with the Supreme Dalek saying "The Supreme council does not accept failure" - With Trump being the Supreme Dalek!! (and therefore exterminating Musk!).

Not disagreeing with anything, just wondering out loud…

Trump has dropped Giuliani, Bannon, Scaramucci, Sessions, Bolton, Cohen, Tillerson, Christie, and countless others like they were bad habits. As much as he demands the loyalty of others he offers none in return. His relationships are purely transactional. I think he is only “stuck” with Musk to the extent that he is getting some value out of him. If and when the “cost” of Musk starts to outweigh his value, he’ll face the same fate.

Of course, that may never happen. Trump is never going to run for re-election again, so any political cost is minimal compared to having the world’s richest man as a lapdog.

Don’t we all? Or, to put it differently, does Trump even have any secrets? He’s always saying the quiet part out loud and he gets away with everything he says and does. What could Musk possibly have on him that would cause Trump to lose a minute of sleep?

We’re through the looking glass now, as Trump starts to sound like the calm voice of moderation when standing next to his nutty attack dog.


I guess I’ve just reached the point where I view the whole thing like a bad Netflix drama that we are all forced to binge. Maybe we should move this whole thread to the Entertainment section of the Forum.

So apparently, Trump wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and in addition to what he's already said about wanting America to have control of the Panama Canal again as well as basically telling Denmark he wants Greenland ''for national security purposes'', he has now apparently said he thinks it's a good idea to make Canada part of America as well. Sure, perfectly sane stuff, not at all insane in any way, shape or form. That's how it works, me want, me get, or I'll stamp my feet and hold my breath.

It would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that NATO and the UN are gonna be tested, probably fucked with and not be able to do anything. Fun times.
