I feel we shouldn't allow ourselves to be screwed over by both the US and china - just leave them to it and see which one comes closest to bankruptcy first. Trump is an idiot thinking he can screw China over.

But, history shows that countries that have open trade and are reliably governed tend to be more prosperous.

So Trump has a spine of steel according to the White House and won't be backing down in his trade war with China. Yes that's what they said. Except that his 145% tariff on imports from China is now subject to exemptions and no longer applies to smartphones, computers, computer monitors, hard drives, barcode readers, microchips, semiconductors, transistors, electronic circuits and various other electronic parts. So definitely no backing down then.
