Another series of poundshop travelogues (see Canal Walks, Raiway Walks etc). This episode was presented by Amar Latif who is blind so we get the perspective of someone who experiences the landscape using sounds and smells with a guide describing the visuals.

Nidderdale is one of the Yorkshire Dales but is outside of the National Park. We see some of the natural features like the How Stern Gorge and the picturesque waterfalls. The Scar House Reservoir near the head of the dale is featured. A village of a thousand people was built here in the 1920s to build the reservoir. After it was finished the buildings were either demolished or dismantled and moved elsewhere including the church. The only structure left standing is the projector room of the cinema which was made of concrete and therefore couldn't be recycled.

The town of Pateley Bridge is the largest settlement in Nidderdale and is often included in lists of the best places to live in Britain. It also houses the oldest sweetshop in the world, established in 1827
