But I do remember they had a fair share of class veterans, such as Jerry Rice, Tim brown, and Rod wodson. To be fair no neutrals would shed a tear other their misfortunes, in Americas game we found out one of their slogans was cheating is encouraged. Also, what about that corner back who had pardon my spelling sickem to help him catch the ball better.

Why not bring back John Madden now that he no longer has broadcasting commitments lol. You have had great Quarterbacks like rich gannon but no one else has come on. Aaron Brookes look good at new orleans he was terrible for you. Do you have Garcia I think he would be a good choice for next 2 seasons gently blood in Jamarcus Russell like packers did with Aaron Rodgers what is your opinion
The guy who used 'stickem' on his gloves was hall of fame receiver Fred Biletnikoff, who ironically was the Raiders receiver coach until 18 months ago before he retired[/align

Fred Biletnikoff may well have done but there was definitely a corner back who also used them he had a terrible stammer, He put on the ball once so the centre for the opposition(houston oilers) could not realease the ball as well as he would have liked from the snap.

][align=left]Historically The Raiders have never had any luck with QBs drafted in the first round, the last one was Todd Marinovich, who was last heard of serving time for drug dealing eek The Raiders released Jeff Garcia just before the season started,he was picked up by the Eagles when Donovan McNabb got injured, but he was released today by them,so i wouldn't be surprised if we picked him back up and played him sunday (fingers crossed) but i can't see JaMarcus being benched, they have way too much money tied up in him and this is his third year,if he's not ready now he never will be.

They have guaranteed money to fall back on if they are released but he would not be the first number one pick to be a flop would he? Tim Crouch at Cleveland was number one pick in 2001 retired unemployed about 4 years ago. Steve young was back up to Joe Montana for a number of years before got first real chance and when he did he had the advantage of leading an already winning team. JaMarcus Russell is in unfortunate position of coming into a losing organisation where morale and confidence is poor so he could be destroyed mentally by the time the season is out combined with the star running back not being the player he was tipped to be is really giving him all sorts of problems only a real veteran could handle.

As for coaches, most coaches won't work with Al Davis.Sean Payton,Ken Whisenhunt,Bobby Petrino,Scott Linehan and Mike Martz have all turned down the job in recent years.

What about Mike Shannahan he is out of work or recruiting Jon Gruden if not already employed?

Shanahan and Gruden would never come back with Al in charge, according to Woody Paige on Around the Horn a few weeks ago,Shanahan will be the next Dallas Cowboys head coach.
JaMarcus is in an unfortunate position we don't have any decent receivers, hell,Peyton Manning would struggle to put up good numbers in our offense.

Shanahan Will be the next Dallas coach! I assume that is an opinion if not where did you hear that? It is amazing how quickly things can change in the NFL. before last season Jason Garrett was tipped to be the next great head coach and was beating off suitors with a stick in order to stay at Dallas as an offensive coordinator. At the end of last season everyone was saying how lucky he was to still have a job. Wade Phillips is highly liked and respected so I think baring disaster he should still be with us next season.

There's a program on ESPN America called Around the Horn, one of the panelists Woody Paige of The Denver Post newspaper said that Wade Phillips was on borrowed time and that Shanahan who's a close friend of Jerry Jones is lined up to replace him.I too thought Jason Garrett was the heir apparent that's why they made him the highest paid coordinator in the league.Phillips has lost a lot of support according to Paige after taking control of the defence and they're now ranked about 26th in the NFL.

No doubt Danny Snyder will throw HUGE money at one of them to come and lead the Skins next season

way to soon poolie guy. Also your comment about Zorn using the run run pass ploy being to predictable well it works fine on my madden 2008 gameRolleyes Surely the quarter back should have the presence of mind to call an audible if he reads that the opposition defense are on to it.

Any way it pains me to say this but I feel sure they will at worse have a winning season and most likely be challenging for a play off position.

Pillow pants I think the media are being very harsh on Wade Phillips if it were not for a successful last kick of the game field goal the cowboys could easily be 3and0

RE: NFL 2009/10
Ok well having just watched the game time for my review

Positives

Great second half performance all round. We really looked good on both sides of the ball after the break.

Running game got going, good performance by Portis.

Defense was very good, much improved from last week and did a great job on 3rd down.

Playcalling was varied, no more typical run, run, pass on 3rd and long.

Its a win

Negatives

First half performance by the offense was terrible. Never looked like scoring and JC was terrible in the first half.

Some bad drops by the likes of Cooley and Portis in the first half.

Hunter the Punter got injured.

4 Turnovers - Three INTs all of which were boneheaded throws by JC.

We won against a terrible team, still think we will struggle to 5 wins this season.

Overall

Well talk about a game of two halves. The bucs could have been (and probably should) 16-0 up at half time but for Nugent missing 2 FGs. The defense were good all game but the offense was just non existant in the first half and something had to change. Campbell had a QB rating of less than 20 in the first half. Compared to the 2nd half when it was over 100. Offense was much improved in general, finally got the running game going with Portis getting close to 100 yards.

Overall a better performance than last week but still nowhere near good enough if we want to have a winning season.

Well job done by the Skins I suppose and keeps us on course for8-8 season I expected at the start.
Don't know what was in the half time drinks but perhaps they could start with it next time, save us all the nail chewing at the death.
