RE: JOHN TERRY A DISGRACE TO ENGLAND!
All the people on this forum screaming for Terry's head on a plate need to realise that this whole episode was far more about selling newspapers than it was about morals, being a role model or anything else "holy"......In fact the newspapers would have MUCH PREFERRED IT if Capello would have stood by Terry for at least another week, then their (so called) "revelations" about Terry's private life would have sold at least 3-4 times as many copies.
Now of course all the bullshit that they are going to print tomorrow is pretty meaningless, they won't sell anywhere near as many copies now as Terry's been sacked anyway, so who gives a shit? All that does is prove the total fucking hypocrisy of the whole thing, "today's news, tomorrow's chip paper"......You can insert ANYONE ELSE'S name in the current England squad instead of Terry's, the newspapers would have been all over them like rabid dogs just the same.
Woe betide Rio Ferdinand if he's got any (more) skeletons in his cupboard, two weeks before he gets on the plane for South Africa.....
All the newspapers have done is get rid of BY FAR the best leader that we have in the current squad, you can call him a knobend all you like, his leadership qualities ON THE PITCH are beyond dispute by anybody. Next time we should just let the fucking newspapers pick the England captain, they've got far more power than Capello has ever had, or will ever get.
And as for all this "role model" garbage, excuse me, but i've seen plenty of kids playing football in the park over the last few years and i've never heard or seen a single one of them pretending to be "John Terry" and i doubt anyone on this forum has either......

RE: JOHN TERRY A DISGRACE TO ENGLAND!
I love that people are blaming the papers for this. Right let me get one thing straight before I start this rant, I fucking hate the tabloid news media, I would rather use the redtops to wipe my arse than use them for what they are actually supposed to be used for, I got all my info on this affair off of Sky Sports News (which isn't much better but at least I don't have to look at those kunts Jordan or Amy Winehouse on Sky Sports News). And I know that the tabloids have bought this all to fruition by writing the story in the first place and calling for his head, but it was not down to them that Terry is no longer Captain. If we have learnt anything from Cappello's time as Manager, we have learnt he could not give a fuck what the tabloids want. How long were they campaigning for Owen to get into the squad? He couldn't give a fuck, if he wanted Terry to still be Captain he would be, his decision has not got anything to do with the papers. He (unlike every other England Manager for the past, well, all my life) has actually got a set of bollocks, he doesn't take any shit and I think it is disrespectful that people seem to be calling him a puppet of the media.
You're not for this world, this world is for you.

RE: JOHN TERRY A DISGRACE TO ENGLAND!
Let's be quite clear on this....I NEVER SAID that Capello was a "media puppet", far from it. True, he wouldn't give a flying fuck about the press regarding this issue, but that's not the point. He would have been well clued up about the english press before he even took the job.
My point is that in their own perverted way, the press WANTED Capello to stand by Terry, they would have been like a dog with a bone and milked the situation for weeks (not to mention making a small fucking fortune out of it) Now though there's nothing to talk about, the public doesn't give a toss anymore about who Terry fucked and who he didn't, in a wierd way i don't suppose JT's too bothered about it now either...But if this had gone the other way, the press would have NEVER let go of it, eventually even Capello would have had no choice.
My argument is that the press have far too much power in this country, if this had happened anywhere else in europe it would hardly have gotten more than a few lines in the middle pages, not banner headlines for fucking weeks on end, and the best man for the captain's armband ON THE PITCH would still have his job.

If you're referring to me, well I never said your opinion is BS. I think the footballers are role models thing is a cop out though, and makes little sense to me. I say that because, if a person were to grow up idolising JT for instance, then he cheats on his GF, it has nothing to do with JT that he did this. Also, the really young kids would have little idea what's going on.
When I was young kid I used to like Mike Tyson. I never grew up to rape woman or biting peoples ears. Still admire what he did as a boxer, but can separate that from what he did in his private life.
