Take a look back at Bangs responses to Ofcom: no comment, failure to supply recordings, untruths about suspending two presenters etc. If they had of offered a structured, cohesive response then things could have played out differently.

this is what ive been saying pretty much since banggate began last friday. yes ofcom are idiots who have silly censorship rules/regulations that allow full frontal nudity at lunchtime, and swearing, violence, nudity in the soaps and other shows yet dont allow the babechannel babes to talk filth and be as rude as some tv shows

but as the saying goes rules are rules and the idiots that comprise bang's management kept breaking ofcom's rules (60 times in 18 months) and as you say also havent been co-operating with ofcom so no wonder ofcom has had enough and taken the licences away. so for me pretty much all the blame should be at bang's own door

as for the future since the pad is still on the air and presume bangbabes will be later, the most likely scenario will be the bangbabes and the pad will continue as they are now with the pad on 2 channels and bangbabes on 1 until a new company can be formed which can get the licences back

but there is the worst case scenario that bang and the pad will go altogether and if that happens then i imagine tha the babes will go to other channels. but hopefully would mean a new channel can be formed from the ashes of bang

shame this has happened, but bang have only themselves to blame

RE: RIP Bang Babes
I'm glad they overstepped the bounderies to be honest! We had great shows, and now we know that Offcom isn't all talk, and that they will infact revoke a license. We know where they stand, which unfortunately means that every other channel is going to be cautious not to screw up, which in turn will be the downfall of these channels Sad Funny though, as I've seen full frontal on other channels since this has happened to Bang Babes.

If the other channels do as Bang Babes has done, then we can assume that they will be taken off air, so there's not much that can really be changed, and it sucks! Either the channels go to encryption, if Offcom will allow it (Do they have a say in this matter?), or they stay as they are and become a bit tamer.

Offcom keeps mentioning that the Bang Babes material was too strong for unencrypted TV, so I hope the channels go encrypted in the future. It will benefit all of us I believe! I think the reason it hasn't happened yet is because of the expense of getting encrypted, and maybe Offcom does infact have some say in the matter, and wants the channels to be unencrypted and tame.

All of us I'm sure would like to see naked women on the telly all the time, but the fact is that when rules are broken there are consequences. Bang Media knew about these consequences and they still went ahead and continued defying rules despite several warnings and opportunities to reform.

Bang Media are the engineers of their own misfortune. Yes, ok, a lot of us dont like rules, but its not like Ofcom didnt give them enough chances.

It should say something when the other channels have taken steps to avoid collapse, and yet the idiots in charge at Bangbabes have continued defying until Ofcom had no choice but to act. They knew this would happen if they continued, and yet they still chose to continue defying.

The Pad and Early Bird as far as I know should remain, as I don't think they're governed by Bang Media...?

Those shows are certainly provided by Bang Media - if you read the Ofcom report you'll see it's in those shows where the majority of the rule breaking happened.

Bang Media can continue broadcasting for the moment on 915 and 902 because those are Playboy channels and Playboy is the licensee. They are leased by Bang.

It's a grey area though - Ofcom have deemed Bang Media to be 'not fit and proper' to hold a licence to broadcast, therefore how can they continue to allow the same company to provide programmes for other channels?

RE: RIP Bang Babes
Ofcom are ridiculous in as far as these shows are on the 900 channels, a section almost exclusively reserved for adult channels. From 900 all the way to 966 or something are all adult channels. The only way you'd see such programming is if you were to seek it out. Surely Ofcom would only act if there were complaints from someone, and surely no-one would complain since they're not the type of channels you find by accident. This leads me to believe it's based on reports from other channels trying to destroy their competition, which seems to have worked in this case.

That said, Bang are the ones to blame here, quite clearly. They pushed the boundaries too far, even after countless warnings and fines. They were either too naive, arrogant or both and it's severely cost them, the girls and us.

Yes Bang have themselves to blame and no-one else, as I've said repeatedly.

You can't keep lying, trying to fool people, non compliance etc for ever. Sooner or later, Ofcom will have enough, and they obviously have.

As I said before, Bangbabes was once the best of all the shows for me, but over time it has declined. Until recently when it was actually getting better, but the idiots who run Bang Media decided to screw all that good work up and chuck their show in the bin. Sad

Ofcom had no choice to impose sanctions.

I was just about to ask the same question, after just seeing rammy's post saying that they are on at present on Sky.
