We've managed to get ourselves into good positions but then failed to capitalise. The series was closer than 2-0 suggests, should really have been 1-1 with a draw thrown in.

Slip down the rankings now too. Tough challenge awaits in South Africa, but our pace bowling attack still looks good which will be more effective in South African conditions (hopefully!).

One bright note, Cook has been awesome, good to see him firing on all cylinders after some stick he's taken in last 18months or so. Good captain.

England won the toss and batted in the 1st ODI. The innings has ended at 216 all out in 49.4 overs, with Morgan's 76 the top score.

Good work in the field by Pakistan today, but England aren't giving up without a fight and have Pakistan 41/3 after 10 overs.

Pakistan 217-4 win by 6 wickets in 43.4 overs.

In the second ODI England have scored 283-5 in their 50 overs.

Alex Hales was top scorer with 109 for his maiden ODI century.

England were 240/2 from 42 overs, so only another 43 from the last 8 overs.

Pakistan all out 188 in 45.5 overs.

England win by 95 runs.

Good performances throughout from England today - Hales century, Roy and Root fifties, key opening bowling from Topley and Willey, Woakes 4 wickets and great spell from Rashid even if only 1 wicket. The remaining matches are on Tuesday and then Friday.

A morale boosting win after a pretty miserable tour in terms of results until now.
