Talking Pictures: Spartacus
Perhaps feeling challenged by the SA crew, a compilation ostensibly focused on one production, through archive Beeb chats, mainly various ones with Kirk Douglas, bits with Tony Curtis and Peter Ustinov, but also managing to include Jean Simmons and even blacklist-busting writer Dalton Trumbo.

King and Conqueror. BBC1 last night.

I take it that the story is a acurate of what happened before the Battle of Hastings.
Just a little difficult to follow. But the memorable moments are of James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldor riding the small ponies that they used in those days. Big Grin Their feet nearly touched the ground.

Naoki meets Iwamoto Nao this time, who does Shojo Manga apparently. In a curious take on face covering, she is filmed with a cartoon face covering her own at all times, whether working in studio or talking with Naoki. The artwork process is again fascinating.
M etc
Naoki is back again, meeting Morohoshi Daijiro, who at least lets his face appear. He flubs a background in one panel, and has troubles fixing it. But he seems to enjoy the analytical experience.

Johnny Vegas' Little Shop of Antiques
1/8 Can Johnny make a success of his own shop, and offload some of his hoarded stuff? He sets up at Dagfields in Cheshire, and visits two store places to buy more stock for the shop, of varying quality.

Talking Pictures meet Timothy West
Mike Read talked to the late actor at an event in Christchurch last year, apparently his last public appearance.

Alien: Earth "Observation"

I'm actually starting to enjoy this more and perhaps my scepticism was misplaced regarding this series. I found this episode a rather slow burn, but interesting and the way the Alien franchise has been used in this series is really good imo. This episode had no action and it was a dialogue affair but still really gripping nonetheless.

The development of the 'Synths' in this episode is really good, the way some have adapted better than others is pretty much the main focus in this episode. However the tension is really good, it's creepy as hell in places and I'm finding it better as each episode goes along Smile.

The Man Who Shot Tutankhamun
Margaret Mountford nipped off to Egypt back in 2016 to re-tell the story of Carter's expedition, through the lens, quite literally, of Harry Burton, whose glass-plate photos told the world what had been discovered. MM takes a modern photographer, Harry Cory-Wright, along with an old-style camera to try and see if his style could be recreated, and it pretty much could.

JV' LSoA
2/8 Opening Day goes quite well, so he makes two more trips to get stock. I do like his approach of "it appeals to me, not just for its profit chances".
