The Bottom Line
Steve Clemons talks to Kori Schake about Trump's "war" on his "enemy within", then later talks to Gershon Baskin about the prospects for Gaza peace - intriguing for a blow-by-blow account of Witkoff's negotiations.

An Aussie vegetarian called Hannah follows a trail up Mount Yurigatake, most of which seems scenic and manageable, but the very final top bit with 4 special ladders and a guide looked horrific.

Hannah is clearly game, because she was back (just last month) climbing Mount Kitadake, apparently the 2nd highest mountain in the "Southern Alps" in a 2-day trek which included a perilous path leading to the nearby Mount Aenodake, the 3rd highest etc

Talking Movies - London Film Festival
Plenty of A-list actors going "oh well we made much of the film here, it feels like home" and similar insincerity.

Bill's final guest is Shaun Ryder, who perhaps has more material than the other 3 shows put together. They develop a code whereby seeing grebes are a signal to shove off to the pub.

I suspect there might well be another series in time.

Well, I was right, but Bailey clearly too busy now. "Xander" takes JM to YORKSHIRE for 3 days, checking out the Calder Valley, "Bronte Country" and finally around Bolton Abbey. They check out the KWVR, the Strid, find a brass band, skim stones, build dens & so on.

9.3 Having postponed this episode for a week to drop in a tribute to Pat Routledge, wouldn't you know - this week she tackles "Jilly Cooper country", i.e. the Cotswolds, which apparently includes Tewkesbury, Bristol (!), Bisley (where Cooper lived), Winchcombe, Bibury and Gloucester. Finally to the telephone kiosk museum at Avoncroft.
SC's GDO
9.4 She's on the "tourist trail" in the East Coast of Scotland (South East, really: Berwick, Mussleburgh, St Abbs Head, North Berwick and of course, Edinburgh (!)).

FZ leaves Ukraine alone for once, instead pretending things are going well now in Gaza, and then wondering why the US isn't forging alliances to take on China, and why they are buddying up to Pakistan.

The Listening Post
What little has in fact changed in Gaza, and also how MAGA ladies can be just as, er, committed, as the guys.

Southampton's other Famous Son was taken round bits of Kent, which he warmed to. They bonded over autism, they went to Biggin Hill so Chris could remember his dad, and they had good weather. I'm not sure I quite picked up on the heavy-handed "male mindfulness" aspect in the first series.

Real Time w/Bill Maher
Arnold Schwarzenegger was his top guest, and managed not to sigh as Bill largely ignored what he had to suggest. Bill's later views on recent events in the Middle East were ironically one-sided, given his later whinge at journalists who pick and choose to make him appear right-wing (not that it takes much picking & choosing, really).
