PAotY 2025
12.4 With Cat Burns, Clara Amfo and Adjoa Andoh, no dangers of Noel Edmonds lookalikes. A couple of artists clearly had a distinct style, and one of these won the day.

2 - Chris Packham
Southampton's other Famous Son was taken round bits of Kent, which he warmed to. They bonded over autism, they went to Biggin Hill so Chris could remember his dad, and they had good weather. I'm not sure I quite picked up on the heavy-handed "male mindfulness" aspect in the first series.
PPW w/AA
3 - Sir Lenny Henry
They trekked around Shropshire, visiting Ironbridge (because everybody else in telly does, though few link it to slavery), singing in church, making pottery and blowing dandelions.

The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
The No Kings protest, and then a chat with Bernie Sanders.

Unspun World w/John Simpson
How the Gaza deal might affect other regional jihadists (!), how the current Chinese plenary saw 9 top generals fired without making much news over here, and how in his view Nicolas Sarkozy should never have been elected.

Armada presents - Sea Dream
Billed as a look at 1960s Torquay, it features Johnny Morris as a narrator, and starts with some lass in the bath. It does! She then dreams of being at the seaside and all the things she can do there, like taking a shower, or swimming in a pool. How times ch-, well, maybe.

4 - Chris McCausland
To the Wye Valley, to briefly try fly fishing, argue over usage of glass in medieval churches, and cross bridges.

Overall, a fun enough series, and I would well expect more the same next autumn.

This Cultural Life w/John Wilson - Gillian Anderson

Blimey, just 4 months since the last series. This (4th) starts with a 1935 chance to laud Alfred Hitchcock again. I've seen the Robert Powell version ("this is no time to hang about" etc) which is fine.
Not that they're churning these out or anything, but Neil now wears glasses, much the most interesting point all show.
CM: The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp
A quite marvellous epic of love and war.

He was surprised in 2014 to find that hospitality is real, and despite some filming issues, almost everyone is friendly, and the food is great, whilst the architecture in Isfahan is worth checking out and breaks up the antics in Tehran.
AB: PU - Los Angeles
One of his earliest ones, focused on Koreatown, Little Bangladesh, and other ways in which LA doesn't chime with Trumpland.
