RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Just bought The Dark Crystal(1982)from a Tesco Direct for £15.
Fantastical dark tale with amazing puppetteering from Jim Henson that still holds up today. In my view nobody has ever even tried anything like this since. All remastered for this 35th anniversary edition. Some extras are passed down from the Collector's Edition DVD but there's also a nice bundle of new stuff to enjoy.
Extras :
Audio commentary from artist Brian Froud
Three making of documentaries
Featurettes
Deleted scenes
Storyboard track
Concept art
Photo galleries

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
If you like underwater sci-fi/horror thrillers in the same style as DeepStar Six or The Abyss then I recommend giving Leviathan(1989)a try.I bought it from Amazon for just under £20 on a US imported disc so make sure you have the right player to view it as I've seen there's been some problems on this from the feedback left on Amazon by other buyers.
It looks good with a nice 1080p transfer and there's a DTs-HD audio option that really comes to life when you crank it up.
The film itself is an amalgamation of The Thing,Alien and the other two underwater films that came out in 1989,the biggest letdown is surprisingly the creature that attacks the crew.Even though it was designed and created by Stan Winston studios, its just very underwhelming but with a great cast and typically understated and excellent turn from Peter Weller,I'd give it the nod over DeepStar Six.
Extras :
Monster Melting(40 minute documentary in HD )
Surviving Leviathan(15 minute interview with Ernie Hudson in HD )
Dissecting Cobb(13 minute interview with Hector Elizondo in HD )
HD trailer

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Although devisve in terms of fan reactions,I recommend Strar Wars : The Last Jedi(2017)
Picked it up in Sainsbury's for £20.
I still have my own doubts and dislikes to it but I have to give credit to writer/director Rian Johnson for at least attempting something new rather than just rely on a nostalgia trip(even if Mark Hamill hated what he did with Luke).Looks breathtakingly beautiful in 4K and loaded with some nice bonus features.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Picked up Wonder(2017)
£10 from a local market.
A really good film from Stephen Chbosky about a young boy with facial differences belatingly starting school.Rather than falling into the politically correct clichéd trap, the tone is upbeat and witty. The great acting from Jacob Tremblay outshines the strong support from Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson.
Extras :
Audio commentary
Featurettes
