It's a secret ballot (shocked i am not) so the only way you'll find out who voted for Palpatine is if they admit it.

Only 3 things in life are certain. Death, Taxes and lesbians will never look how they do in porn movies.

Even at the best of times their presidential election smells rotten too!!
If they were to push through new reforms I can't see it undoing 25 years of corruption in one fell swoop.
but I have to say that Blatter has now probably forced UEFA's hand by winning I know papers say that he got a bloody nose of sorted but I don't think that is all many people would want to do to him!!

That's not true at all. UEFA can stand alone and don't need anyone. SecretAgent has already explained earlier in this thread that if UEFA split from FIFA then the sponsors will follow UEFA and FIFA would be left well and truly stuffed.

Those who are defending Blatter are pointing out that it seems awfully convenient that these arrests happened just a couple of days of before this presidential vote

RE: FIFA
The American Authorities Did it because the majority of the people arrested were going to be in one place so instead of dealing with diffrenet jurastrictions and dealing with diffrent goverments and diffrent extradition laws. they waited so all they had to do was deal with the swiss authority so it would all be done in one go

They would I suppose but I understood that it was timed like that so that most of the people arrested would be in the same place. Interesting that Blatter is now blaming the English press and the USA saying its sour grapes for losing bids for the world cup when before the vote FIFA were saying they were responsible for calling in the Swiss Police about the bidding for the next 2 world cups!

RE: FIFA
As usual, the Sunday Times had some pretty comprehensive coverage of the affair, including some nuggets not previously reported.

Blatter is supposedly a "person of interest" in the Swiss investigation -- or rather the Swiss equivalent of the legal status somewhere between a witness and a suspect. It basically means that we want to interview you as a witness, but we are not precluding the fact that you may be a suspect.

The other bit of news was the origin of the whole American investigation. They claim that the start of the fuse was the 2010 vote on the 2018/22 World Cups, when Chuck Blazer stole a glance over the shoulder of Mohammed Bin Hamman and saw Jack Warner on his list of locked-up votes for Qatar. Blazer thought he had a gentleman's agreement with Warner to vote for USA. Until then, there had been an honour-among-thieves relationship between Blazer and Warner, but the relationship started to go awry on that day. Then Blazer lost his mind when Warner and bin Hamman got caught red-handed with that hamfisted cash-for-votes fiasco at a Caribbean hotel during the latter's bid for the FIFA presidency. So when the US authorities caught up with Blazer in 2012, he was only too eager to give up Warner and the whole investigation spiraled from there.

Fascinating stuff...

RE: FIFA
So we can now assume that Blazer is officially the whistle blower in all of this then?
As for UEFA how much support Platini can muster amongst the European Associations to stand together is the next big thing. Once we know who probably would back such a move, then UEFA probably will talk to the other confederation and see how much support is there elsewhere for a breakaway but I have feeling Platini is going to have a hard time convincing everybody in UEFA.

RE: FIFA
^ He doesnt only have to convince a majority which i think he will the french spanish and Russians can stay with fifa

the french team is no where near the power they were in the late 90's early 2000

the Spanish are a spent force in terms of national side now that most of there golden generation are close to retiring

and the russians have never been a powerhouse in football
