Oooh, love Edam, it's made backwards you know. Smile
I only type em, I don't check em Big Grin

Happy Days facts: all from memory.
Did you know the Smithsonian Institute in the good old USof A has the original leather jacket that belonged to Henry Winkler, who played Arthur 'The Fonz' Fonzarelli in Happy Days and that Robin Williams first played Mork the alien in a cameo appearance in that show during a bizarre dream sequence. This was so popular that he got his own show Mork and Mindy. Another spin off was Laverne and Shirley which featured two of Fonzie's girl friends that worked for a bottling company. Another one was Joanie Loves Chachi, which featured Erin Moran and Scott Baio's characters and how they get on a couple.

In the early 80's Hanna-Barbera made a cartoon series called 'The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang' which featured Ron, Henry and Donnie Most(Ralph Malph) reprising their roles travelling through time and space in a spaceship thanks to botch ups by a lovely alien girl called Cupcake(Didi Conn from Grease) and the most annoying idiotic dog Mr Cool.

Happy Days' actors that went on to be successful directors/producers
Ron Howard-Richie Cunningham very successful director.
Henry Winkler-co-producer of MacGyver both versions of the series.
Anson Williams-Potsie Webber-director

The term for a programme or series that has an episode that loses all credibility or defies belief 'jumping the shark' came from Happy Days when Fonzie decides to water ski off a ramp over a shark.

London was the first city in the world to have an underground subway system.

The largest Italian/Indian restaurant in the world is located in Britain. The Aakash seats up to 750 people.

Researchers calculate the age of the earth by dating both the oldest rocks on the planet and meteorites that have been discovered on Earth (meteorites and Earth formed at the same time, when the solar system was forming) Their findings? Earth is about 4.54 billion years old.

Turning back the clock hands on Big Ben takes a total of 4 hours.

Windsor palace is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.

Despite appearances the late Dean Martin wasn't a drunkard-he just played that role in films and on television. Mind you he liked a drink or two Big Grin

Before 2004, if you stood on Platform 3 at Wolverhampton High Level station, there wasn't a higher point between you and the Ural mountains.

During the late 70's - early 80s, when I was a postie and worked nights, part of my shift entailed servicing the Travelling Post Offices, (mail sorting trains).
Two came through W'ton, one northbound and one southbound.
This southbound one (the Up Special), bound for London Euston, came through at about 02:00 hrs or thereabouts, and stopped on Plat 3.

Even on an August night at 2 in the morning, it was abnormally chilly.
The old timers would always remark, that there's nothing between here and the Urals.

This all changed in 2004, when another platform was built on the eastern edge of the station.

Cheers GreenMachine, mine's a pint.
Your post reminded me of that great comedy actor Freddie Frinton, whose many roles often included playing a drunk, and by 'eck he didn't half play 'em well, despite being a complete teetotaller.

Music facts-again from memory(so anything wrong please excuse)
Former leader of the Labour Party Neil Kinnock appeared in a Tracey Ullman video.

Heaven 17's video for 'Temptation' featured page 3 girl Gillian De Terville singing, but it was really dubbed by Carol Kenyon.

Another video for Tracey Ullman featured Paul McCartney in a mini(the car, not the dress)

Simon Le Bon nearly drowned when strapped to a windmill machine for the video Wild Boys.

Duran Duran's video for Girls on Film has TWO versions, one fit for television, the other a lot sexier.

The first video featured on the new MTV was Video Killed the Radio Star-The Buggles(rather apt)
Trevor Horn the lead singer in that band went on to found ZTT and signed Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

The very first CD album was Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits.

Coming soon more Bond facts(you lucky people). Big Grin

I've seen him (Freddie Frinton) and his Dinner for One I think it is has him a drunkard but being different characters. It is shown EVERY New Year's Eve in Germany on all channels-god help them!

On the subject of trivia, the board game "Trivial Pursuit" was created in December 1979, by two Canadian journalists; Chris Haney & Scott Abbott.

A flu jab will NOT give you a dose of flu. It is an inert substance. The mere fact you might get a cold or be ill is probably due to the time of year.

As much Prosecco is drunk in the UK each year as the annual rainfall on Wembley Stadium (hmm imagine if it rained Prosecco?) Big Grin

RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia
This is a trivia fact that you won't find anywhere else.

One item of trivia in this thread has been repeated.
I'm not telling, cos it shows if you are paying attention Big Grin

A clue is that it is the same person.
