^The photonic masts use the Xbox Controller, not the actual Sub.

Going down 2+ miles in a carbon fibre barrel controlled by a Bluetooth-connected game pad is absolutely mental. You would have to be completely certifiable to pay 200k for that.

There's been knocking noises in the area where the mini sub went missing.

Something else to note about the XBox controller used to control the Photonics Masts on the Virginia Class Subs. They’re hard wired, not Bluetooth.

It’s not unusual for the military to use odd items this way. The missile launch trigger on the Royal Navy Vanguard class missile subs is based on the hand grip from a Colt 45 Peacemaker pistol.

The Titanic is a tomb for many of the poor souls who couldn't get on a life boat. Maybe it should be left in peace rather than be seen as a tourist attraction.

I agree it should be left as such and only explored by those who are professsionally trained to explore it. I know James Cameron has been down there a couple of times in the past, but I believe it has been some years since his last visit and he was in a differently designed vessel but was with only one other person with ecperience. Am I right in thinking at that sort of depth, it is often very difficult to maintain contact with the surface?

I believe the company that organised this tragic visit had (or has had) problems with classing the vessel and it's design has been questioned at times, but really this is a real wake up call for that industry. We have to assume the worst case scenario now, and that finding them alive is fast running out.

So a submarine built to flog trips to a deep underwater grave site, available to the wealthy, that doesn't meet various safety standards, now has likely met a horrible end.
Why didn't anyone put a stop to it, surely waivers aren't all you need to get away with risking peoples lives, it's madness.
