Sajid Javid becoming the latest Tory MP to announce he will not stand for relection at the next GE.

What is quite stark about the MPs that are saying they wont stand is the age of them. Chloe Smith, William Wragg & Dehenna Davison are 40, 34 & 29 respectively. Even Javid who feels like he has been around forever is 52, 8 yrs younger than Starmer. You would expect MPs with a long career ahead of them not to be the ones that are retiring especially someone like Davison who has just been given a junior ministerial post.

It says something about how the Tories see their chances at the next election that so many younger MPs are jumping before being pushed.

This in turn creates a problem for the Tory party, where will the next gen of leadership & ministers come from if the young ones all quit ?

Shock horror, a clueless Tory, but hey, don't worry they think that helping those that don't need any help, the very wealthy, is how you help those on the poverty line, because everyone knows that trickle down economics is the quick and easy solution, it's why so many experts say it will solve all of our problems like yesterday, oh wait...

Seeing as everyone is going on strike itwouldn'tbe funny if all the Waiters/waitress, barmaids/barmen, restaurant staff, cooks, electricians and all other non ministerial staff all suddenly locked all the bars/reastaurants door and walked out on the MP's and went on strike. I don't think they ever have been on strike before from what I remember.

Bet Boris will don a apron to serve the meals and Keir Starmer the Marigolds to do the washing up

Saw a video of this, about time this sort of action was taken as its not the 1st time the tories have done this, telling the media first before parliament
