Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it?

Thught I'd post this here as the next debate point on the virus...

Is the Post lockdown world/environment one you envisaged, or very different to what you guys knew before? And would you say it is likely we'll never go back to what we knew before?

It's just Europe who are stuffed. Poor or middle income countries are allowed to manufacture the drug under licence. A manufacturing agreement is quickly needed with the US.

Another drug that appears to lessen symptoms in coronavirus patients is a common steroid called dexamethasone. This is available and a lot cheaper.

Interesting apparently we have a thing called the Crown Use exemption which means we can bascially take drugs in an emergency and make them here

I would like to add and say it should be stressed that these drugs are NOT a complete cure for Corona but have proven to aid recovery only and I now worry if the US was to develop a working vaccine before we do they can hold the world to ransom with it.

John Lewis to announce store closures and job losses due to virus. i would imagine in many local areas that would be a huge hit to the local retail and economy if that was to happen.

Assuming we should have been hiding from it in the first place it all seems to be being relaxed too quickly to me.

Boris Johnson has been trying to pass the blame for all the care home deaths by saying that too many care homes did not properly follow procedures during the coronavirus pandemic.

Suzie Dent is trending on twitter after she gave a defination of the word 'smellfugus'. It is a grumbler, faultfinder, or one who likes to shift the blame for their own mistakes onto someone else.
