Another face from the DC Universe will be appearing in season 9 of Smallville Maxwell Lord who will be played by the Actor Gil Bellows who was in Ally McBeal and 24 Redemption In the comics Maxwell Lord started off good when he was working with the Justice League International till he turned bad and was killed by Wonder Woman and in The Lastest DC epic the Blackest Night his come back to life as a Black Lantern. There is no news on which version will be showing Maxwell Lord whether he'll be good or bad, but rumors on the net say he'll play a part with the group called checkmate run by Amanda Waller played by Pam Griers who has also appeared in this season and both may reappear through the run of Smallville. Also Martha Kent (Annette O'Toole) Perry White (Michael McKean) who appeared as in season 3 and Brian Austin Green well appearing again as Metallo in a future Ep called Upgrade 2.0 which can guess metallo will be getting another upgrade .

Zod can fly.....

Its been confirmed that Smallville will returning for a 10th season, i think its a about time they finally make him fly. Something tells me we might even see him do that at the end of season 9 and i would end season 10 with him putting on the proper superman suit on.

Geoff Johns on seeing the JSA outside the comic: "They do appear again at the end of season on 'Smallville.' The hope is for every DC character to appear outside the comic books. Correctly."

Rumour has it that JSA appear again at end of the season and they team with the JLA (Clark's group) to take on the Apokolips, could this mean Darkseid?.

Earlier this month, the CW officially picked up "Smallville" for its tenth season following a remarkably strong performance on Friday nights and a creative resurgence. "Absolute Justice" — the two part Justice Society episode by comic scribe Geoff Johns — was one of the most popular episodes of "Smallville" this year. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the JSA will return before the end of the ninth season.

According to a report from last weekend's Emerald City Comic-Con at Comics Alliance, Johns said that "[The JSA] do appear again at the end of season on 'Smallville.'" Johns also added "The hope is for every DC character to appear outside the comic books. Correctly."

Back in November, Michael Shanks — the actor who portrayed Hawkman — hinted that he might return in future episodes as a mentor to Clark Kent.

“Clark and his friends are figuring out what their destinies will be, so there is a ripe opportunity for the Justice Society who had been there done that to offer some tough love teaching," said Shanks.“The way things land at the end of it all, there’s an open door for Carter Hall to be revisited and possibly be part of further mentoring Clark down the road.”

Johns has also recently hinted that Darkseid and the dark gods of Apokolips may appear next season on "Smallville."

Which Justice Society members do you want to see added to the "Smallville" incarnation? Should Hawkman teach Clark how to fly?

just read that michael Ronsenbaum won't be appearing in season 10 of smallville as lex, just is a real shame as if that is the last season it would have been a nice way to see it out, but superman hasn't always been about lex and since there bringing in more people from the DC/Superman Universe it will do alright .
