I wonder if there will be any talk of Salah's disallowed goal on the usual referee round up thing they do on Sky Sports. As I understand it, the VAR, when deciding to rule out a goal for a possible handball, can only look as far back as the goalscorer or the player who assists the goal, what happens before is irrelevant when making a judgement.

Seems the refs don't understand the rules, although nothing new there

Thankfully it didn't affect the result tonight and Liverpool got back to winning ways with a very good, creative performance

I think it's you that doesn't understand the rules.

Firmino's handball was judged to be intentional and it was within the attacking phase of play which led to a goal being possibly scored. VAR was correct to intervene and inform the referee that he needed to check for a handball.

It's only unintentional handballs which are limited to the goalscorer or the player who assists the goal and which can lead to a goal being disallowed. In this case the referee was advised to check for an intentional handball.

If the issue had been whether the ball hit the hand or not it would not have been necessary for Martin Atkinson to go and view the pitchside monitor. Jonathan Moss on VAR would have made that handball call by himself.

But because the issue was the subjective question of whether the handball was intentional, Martin Atkinson needed to view the footage. Since he judged it to be a deliberate handball the goal was therefore chalked off.

West Brom started where they left off in their previous matches, conceeded a goal in the first 10 mins.
Fulham then attacked for the full half and despite umpteen chances failed to add to their total.

I don't know what big Sam did at half time but the team that's appeared in the 2nd half look like they want to compete. They've come back with 2 goals and for the 1st time this session they look like a team who want to stop in the Premiership. But there's still time to mess it up

Nonsense, some people online seem to think every game has to be won or its the end, we've been spoilt the least 3 years

It's not gonna be a good season for Liverpool but as fans we've enjoyed 2 fantastic years where they won major trophies, played some excellent football and assembled a quality team, surely Klopp is permitted a relatively poor season where he hasn't been able to get his best defense and best midfield on the pitch since October

I feel UEFA have to address this seriously but when you consider it's past record on racism issues it's not really been able to deal with it and yet there would be many who would say it would be rough on the rest of Slavia team players if they were thrown out. But would UEFA be right to do so?

But how often have England been in Eastern Europe for European and World Cupv Qualifiers and have been abused and UEFA did anything about it seriously?

I think it would be rough on the rest of Slavia team but UEFA cannot let this incident go unpunished in some way a fine would not be enough but maybe that Kudelo's suspension for the rest of the tournament & their domestic season would probably be about right enough. There will be calls for the team to be thrown the out and it may be UEFA's only option to show to clubs that it IS serious in how it deals with racism.
