some the players like pietersen, colly, cook and sometimes strauss go long periods without scoring major runs. cook and peitersen should have been dropped during the summer so they for their counties but peitersen thinks he is bigger than his county side. central contracts have removed the the uncertainity of places, these contracts gaurantees places for a select regardless of form which is not helping england to push forward with developing players throught the county system.

anyway a better note aussies are 39-3,

Hussey getting out before Lunch is a huge wicket for England to get. I am rarely in favour of bowling first in tests but fair play to England so far. The key for me though will, as usual be how well England bat in their 1st innings. Promising start with the ball though.

Australia all out for 97.
It's a good bowling performance but you can't help feeling that the pitch had a lot do with it.

Strange that either England or Australia have been well on top in all of the matches so far... there hasn't been a close match.......yet

Now WE have to do what the Aussies have done to us time and time again over the years, get our heads down and REALLY rub their noses in it. It's clear that this Aussie side are average at best, more importantly totally without confidence, even after last week's win.

They've got the disease that England had for years, "Lemming's Syndrome"..."one jumps, we all jump." Great to see the boot firmly on the other foot for a change.

Yep, England need to stamp their authority on the match and ram the advantage home. No room for sloppiness now. Get a very big lead and set the game up for the bowlers. So far so good from England.

Great performance from England's bowlers. Keep the ball to a good line and length. It's basic cricket done very well. Loads of runs now and bowl them out. What a great day to humiliate the Aussies.Big Grin

Today's stat note: in Australia's first innings total of 98, every batsman fell caught behind the wicket, 6 to the wicketkeeper, 2 to slips and 2 to gully.
