All police that I have experienced, yes. Racial profiling is not totally unjustifiable but if they released stats on the race of people stopped 'randomly', Caucasians will be minute in comparison to all other races, especially Asians and Blacks.

Having a gun is unacceptable, yes, but they surrounded the minicab he was in, he wasnt shooting them, why not take the gun and take him to jail? Did they have to shoot at him straight away?

I understand the difference between ''shot him'' and ''killed him'', and in this case they killed him, if they just shot him, he would have been shot in an area that is not fatal, such as leg or shoulder, not in the chest like they did! They killed him

I am a reasonably liberal guy but I cannot understand the authority's stance now. Why not water cannon? This is as extreme as it can get, surely it warrants an equal response. It was used in Ireland, so why not on the mainland? It's utterly disheartening.

I've secured my house and i'm ready to give them hell if they try to attack my house.
I'm sick of people using the race card as an excuse to kick off.

OOh you mustn't do that you'll find yourself locked up for life if you dare raise your voice to the poor little lambs.What you should do is invite them in for a cup of tea and listen to all the hardship they have in their poor deprived lives them send them on their way with as much of your property as they can carry and see them off with a cheery wave.Thats the way things are done these days.

It's time we gave the Police the tools to do the job. Arm them.This is standard even in extremely peaceful countries like Denmark. It's a deterrent at the very least.

I saw a 150 year old furniture shop burn to the ground yesterday a place my wife and I have used and the owners who had always had time to say hello to us. Armed police may have saved that business yesterday and the 20 jobs that probably went with it.

Would you give even the slightest shit about this incident or Police procedure if he was white? Why can't you just see 'an armed man' rather than 'an armed black man'?

A shot to the chest is not always fatal, and I believe it's an acceptable target area. Shooting someone in a leg or arm does not necessarily incapacitate them enough to stop the threat of being shot at.

Has it even come to light what exactly happened? Did they give him any instructions? Did they ask him to throw out the gun? They do have professional procedures you know, they aren't just an indiscriminate hit squad.

I couldn't care less what colour this man's skin was; he had a gun, he got shot, he died. You'll have to excuse me if I don't read anymore into it than that. Maybe it will turn out that the officer who shot him was racist, but let's wait to see any evidence of this shall we. Maybe the officer who shot him was black, now that'd be an interesting development for you!
