That voting option (none of the above) does exist in some countries.

RE: General Election Vote
My new polling station is two minutes walk away and I'm voting at the last minute for a change. Still dithering as to which way to go. My one vote is very unlikely to make a difference (I haven't been evangelizing and no one would have listened anyway Rolleyes ) - but I will publicly apologise if the re-counts are still going on this time tomorrow!Tongue That's in contrast to a lot of people in this constituency and beyond this time. Aside from the SNP supporters' buoyancy since September, my impression has been that many friends (and family members particularly) have been shamed in to supporting the Nats after the referendum. I hear of the young that voted or got excited about independence wanting to know why nanna and granddad shot it all down at the last moment. The hurdle that used to be the Centre-Where? stance of the SNP is long since cleared, so it's no trouble for the old mining villages and the housing schemes to switch to the best "social justice" option available.

This said, had I the funds to spare I would have bet on Labour to retain this seat (9/2 when I looked last week, not sure now). Our boundaries may have been redrawn for recent elections (somewhere in England is an old seat that Labour used to covet and now have a snowball's chance in hell of winning!) but this is one of the areas where Tories are 1 in 4 or 5 rather than 1 in 20, and the LibDems used to take those who can't stand the others. I don't know for certain if they will take the hit for their Scottish parties' egos and vote tactically here or elsewhere - it'll solve the problem for one election only and who knows if the Nats will tarnish their record in the Scottish Government to lose support before the next is called. Either way, no party is just going to drop £1000 in my lap; handing a bit of paper to the bookies might have been my only option!Smile

I am surprised to see the Tories ahead in the forum poll, especially with Cameron's proposed porn laws, it's like Turkeys campaigning for a new paxo factory.

You beat me too it snookered, if that figure is true then what a fantastic result for the SNP Big Grin The UK's Third Largest Party Big Grin

On the downside the Conservative number is very disappointing, as Cameron may wish to Govern with a minority Government, 5 more years of the Tories then Huh

All the commentators are already saying "remember 1992" - opinion polls were off the mark then; the proliferation of different parties since then makes it even more difficult to accurately predict results this time round.

RE: General Election Vote
Exactly what the SNP leaders were praying for. An overwhelming mandate for this nation, "suffering" up to 5 more years of a Tory-led national government. No mud will stick to Nicola Sturgeon before the next Holyrood elections, and probably not before it's time for the next Westminster Polka either. Plenty of time to pick an ideal moment for the next Yes vote...
