last weeks TV show review before the (non)PPV this week

match one was AEW first ever Lumberjack Match between Luchasaurus vs. Wardlow,
this had been built up for month and it didn't disappoint both where very good and wrestled well together, both hit big moves that men so big should not be able to do, the lumberjacks didn't really do anything other than catch them when they jumped over the top rope, Wardlow won thanks to a low blow and nothing was settled so expect to see this again soon

match 2 was Hikaru Shida vs. a Jober
pointless match that only excised to let Shida have a fight after the match with Ford to set up the PPV match

match 3 was Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss vs. Brodie Lee and Colt Cabana
a good match the new team of Joey and Kiss looked good, Kiss did some big moves on his first tv match, was funny hearing JR calling him a woman, Colt won thanks to help from Lee as he continues to push him towards to darkside,
after the match Archer came out and beat up Joey and Kiss in his first tv match in ages,

match 4 was SCU vs. FTR
this match should have been FTR battling The Natural Nightmares but QT Marshall has got covid so was not there,
it was a really good match SCU remind everyone how good they are and FTR showed they could be the best tag team ever, it was really good,
after the match Fenix and Pentagon made there come back and beat up FTR before teaming up with The Butcher and The Blade to take FTR van, the Bucks came out to help setting up an 8 man match at the PPV

match 5 Brian Cage vs. a jober
Cage won in about 1 minute in a easy match but it was after on the mic that Taz was a star , he taunted Moxley for being at home with covid, and mate Cage look like the best chance yet of taking the world title ,

match 6 was Matt Hardy vs. Santana
this was ok but didnt make much sense the action was ok but not amazing, Hardy go the win but then took a beatdown after the match so did nothing really to make ever man look better,

the main event was Orange Cassidy and Chris Jericho,
this was really good, both men had a wild fight outside the ring, some huge moves and hard hitting, Orange ended standing tall having put Chris through a table looking cool, this was a perfect way to set up there PPV match

Watched the first night of fighter fest lastnight and it was honestly not that good for there big summer show they have been building up for weeks it didn't all go well,
Match 1 and 2 where the best of the night, never a good thing k when a card stars strong and then goes down hill,
MJF and wardlow stared againt Jurassic express a good match but nothing we haven't see before as these teams have been going at it for months, it looks like it's finally done as Jurassic express finally got there win so hopefully everyone can now move on, nice hints of issues between MJF and Wardlow, MJF really needs to do something as when u think how big he was 6 months ago he's looking like a mid card Jobber these days,
The second match was for the woman's belt, both girls where excellent it was the best match of the night, ford potically looked good even though she lost , it was the best match she's ever had and now looks like a real star, Shida best match since she became champ,
Then it really went wrong with a bad match for the TV belt , Cody was off his game, both men didn't work well together, it was a with screw job finish that saw Cody keep his belt eventhough he was checked out, I thought I was watching a shit episode of nitro from back 25 years ago,
This was followed by a pointless tag match between private party and the inner circle, it was a good match although I have seen both teams do better but it just seemed pointless there was no reason for the match, until after the match was over when it was announced the the winners private party now get a title shot next week wtf why not tell us that before so we knew what was going on, plus it's just making more of a joke of the ranking system as this number one contender match was between the teams ranked 5 and 8 total maddness,
The main event was for the tag belts, this was a good match with good moves in it but it was so predictable not for one moment did I think the best friends would win so it was hard to get into it, when best friends hit there finishing move that no one's ever kicked out of and it didn't get them the win you new that was it and sure enough 10mins later they had lost,
Only match 3 was really bad just sad that matches 4&5 seamed a bit pointless and predictable , next week needs to be a lot better,
One thing to note is Mox will not be defending his world title next week as he's still not over the covid he got, so the much anticipated word title match will now be on the normal TV in two weeks time , Chris v orange is now the main event with the new match for the tag belts filling the gap in the card,

How cool was it to see the FTW world heavyweight championship back on tv,
First time it been seen since 1999 when it was merged with the ECW belt in a title v title match, Taz was the winner, its a belt that Taz invented it used to be called the Brooklyn heavyweight championship in its early days, noticed its a new belt it's not got the flags of Canada, USA, UK, Japan on anymore,
Its perfect for Cage and he can lose to Mox next week but still be a world champion , think he will hold it along time and can see him having some great matches for it, gives aew a lot of new matches they can book as now baby face guys have a world belt to go after,

Fyter Fest night 2 was a lot better than night 1 i think,

match 1 was AEW Tag Team Championship Match: Private Party vs. Hangman Page and Kenny Omega
this was a good match, Page and Omega where always going to win but there was so much action and big moves it was a real fun watch both teams look great together, i hope private party get more chances like this as they are a great team who looked really good here

match 2 was Joey Janela vs. Lance Archer
i was suprised that Joey gave archer such a good fight, both hit big moves, the ending with Archer doing his Blackout move through a table outside the ring was very impressive the rebuild of Archer is going well,

next Taz gave the FTW Championship to Brian Cage

match 3 was FTR and The Young Bucks vs. The Butcher, The Blade and The Lucha Bros
this was match of the night for me, so much great action the 4 trams worked amazing together, this match set up so many good matches for the future, it had some of the best action i have seen yet on AEW, but the storytelling was even better, the perfect wrestling match, was a surprise to see Pentagon and Fenix get the win but made sense as they needed the win most after not being in AEW over the lockdown,

match 4 was Nyla Rose vs. Kenzie Paige and Ki Lynn King
worst match of the night, it really was totally pointless, they only did it so Rose could tell us after the match shes now got a manager who she will tell us about in the future,

match 5 was SCU vs. The Dark Order and Colt Cabana
thsi was a really good match SCU are really good and can work with anyone, i think it was Dark order best match yet they let Colt have the win his journey to the dark side is interesting,

main event was Orange Cassidy vs. Chris Jericho
this was a great match, orange best ever he ended it looking like one of the best babe face in the company and a true star even in a loss thats wrestling at its best, it gave Chris a much needed big win in a good match, just so much to enjoy, it was the classic baby face comeback nearly getting the win before the heel cheats to win match, shows that the ols ways work so well, AEW have to be happy that they have made Orange a main eventer,

this was AEW at its best and a real back to form

last weeks results from there 3rd (non) PPV Fight for the fallen

Cody beat Sonny Kiss in match 1

FTR beat The Lucha Bros in match 2

Chris Jericho got tricked by Orange and had a lot of Orange juice poored over him

The Elite beat Jurassic Express in match 3

Nightmare Sisters beat MJ Jenkins and Kenzi Page in match 4

Jon Moxley beat Brian Cage in the main event

match 1 was good as Kiss at the best match he ever has , it set up Cody being tired from having to many matches, be interesting to see where that goes,
match 2 saw FTR pull off Fenix's mask to cheat to the win, setting up a rematch, also after they poored beer over Omega setting up another match
match 3 was best of the night need to see them have another match so many big moves, at the end Omega beat up Stunt looking like he could be going Heel are we going to see the return of the Cleaner charter he has played when heel before
match 4 was ok and showed us Brandi Rhodes and Allie together for first time on tv,
the main event saw Mox win by by Taz throwing in the towl so Cage did not tap out, Mox had wrestled a submission match very unlike his usual style , it wasn't as good as i would have expected but with Cage not losing it keeps him as a main eventer

Seems they are teasing a Cody heel turn.

Was surprised that they ended the Cage v Moxley match the way they did,

Yeah by throwing in the towel but then him not selling it after the match that episode of aew was terrible in my opinion

I think they will turn Cody heel slowly having him making more mistakes as he gets more tired each week, there is no need to rush it as i think Omega will go heel first, i read an article that aew always planned to push Kenny as there number one star in there second year,

I think it was the only way to end the main event, mox couldn't lose yet and cage couldn't ever,but it didn't look great in a main event, they would have been better off having Allen stop the match as I here he's going to fight with cage for a bit so would have had more sense, agree about the selling Goat it was piss poor, cage needs to work on that

It would have made more sense to make cage pass out instead of the towel and are they really going with darby allen vs cage Thats gonna look ridiculous

So Nyla is an unstoppable killer bad-ass... but she needs a manager to further her cause? And Vickie Guerrero as that manager?!!?
